thanks choogirl - it's not normal believe me! :rotfl:

But didn't want to waste the weekend, and am finding it a bit easier to get stuck into things having had a talking to myself recently to say that things will only happen if I make them :( / :)

since the start of the year, my focus/drive whatever you want to call it has definitely come back and while I do still need the loaf time on the sofa, I know that I need to balance it with other stuff so I don't feel too guilty about it, and so that important things get done.

Next weekend I really must get on with tidying up the paintwork on the landing and sorting out the downstairs bathroom ready for Dad to come over at Easter. I will call the EA today to see about going back on the market - not sure if they will be happy to do it while the downstairs bathroom is such a mess but can't hurt to ask.

I will need to spend a little on a loo, 2 sinks, worktop and kitchen cupboards, plus floor and tiles, but I have a bit from last month's wedding and have another coming up in April plus more in May. Some of this may go on a CC but it will be very short term, and is house related, so I don't mind too much.

At least with the paintwork I have all the required sanding/stripping tools now so can get on with it in the week if I get some spare time. I'm not teaching harp pupil until Sunday so can maybe start on Wednesday evening when I would normally teach him.

Work is hectic today but nothing new there. Went to bed early last night after feeling pleased with my weekend, and took a little while to get to sleep so felt very tired this morning. At least my fringe behaved this morning :D
  • Happy new hair do....:)

Well little_h I have finally done it.....managed to get out on OH's bike (as a pillion passenger) this weekend, by the first five/ten minutes it just reinforced the feeling of wanting to pass my test and to own my own bike in the future....OH has suggested it prior to this, but kinda dismissed it...and could never understand the pull etc....but it was truly amazing...:)

Hope your having a rest after such a hectic weekend...:)

Theres a lot of new hair doo chat :) I totally get it but have neglected my hair of late. Will have to do something about this soon I think!
Good luck with the new bathroom, you seem busy all the time, no need to feel guilty about loafing on the sofa!
    Hope work settles down :)

evening :) will try and keep this brief as I need to get to bed at a sensible time to maximise the extra time in bed tomorrow as it's work from home day :)

had a very odd couple of days. narrowly missed getting tangled up in a car accident on the way home yesterday (by inches, had a big swerve to avoid it) and stopped to help move people and cars. Dealt with it fine at the time as I was in crisis mode, but was a bit shaken up by it and found driving today very draining and a bit scary. it is my nearest miss and I really feel if I was a cat I would have used up one of my lives yesterday! but am very glad to be OK.

This evening has been very odd too. A couple of old faces from the past rearing their heads out of the blue. One in particular always seems to pop up when I am thinking about a particular stage in my life and it's a bit freaky. Hopefully a good night's sleep will put things into perspective as I really don't know what to do. Sorry to sound so cryptic.

On the plus side, I finished a big big project at work today that I have been working on for months. It has really tested me and I have learnt lots of new techy stuff along the way.

It goes out to the end users later this week so I am a little nervous although the first versions of it were very well received. My boss has decided it's so good it has to go to the big bosses too  It's nothing new but basically doing my normal stuff with different numbers and showing things in a new way. A nice confidence boost although a fair bit of pressure in case holes are picked! I know i have checked and triple checked though so just need to keep the faith :D Hurrah for me :j (not in an uppity way, just glad it's done!)

  • Hope your enjoying your working at home day today especially with all this gorgeous weather :)

I am sorry to hear about the near miss, it can be a very vunerable place on a bike but you managed to avoid it and hopefully no-one was seriously hurt.

Well done on the project :T ...always scary when you do something new which is out of your own comfort zone, but when you get the praise its like :j I did that :) and the fact that it has been well received is such an achievement too.:A

Congrats on the work stuff. Isn't it great to feel the relief of a project reaching fulfilment, having learnt along the way and then to get praised for it? [When I say "isn't it" I mean "it must be":o.]

Near misses are so scary - and it usually is afterwards that the shock kicks in. Actually, I'm not too good at near misses either - generally I just plough into whatever's in the way.

Anyway, enough of all that ... I'm zoning in on your cryptic message.:D Hope it's not causing you sleepless nights and torment, and has the potential for some fun. Good luck, whatever it is and whatever you decide.

thanks everyone :) thankfully I wasn't on the bike. I haven't taken it to work for a while but hope to on Friday if the weather stays good - the traffic home on Friday is bad and I will have the dog this week until Saturday.

I drive a lot, and consider myself a confident driver, but it has really given me a bit of a shaking and a reminder that I am not as careful as I think I am at times. So, will take from this what needs to be taken, and get back on it.

Had an OK day today workwise - have been working on something really unpleasant the last week or so which isn't nice, but I am being as fair as I can be and the outcome is beyond my control. It should be over soon but it is very upsetting. I always have a little lull after something big is finished, but tomorrow I can get myself back in touch with everything else that's going on and get some planning/clearing out done so I can carry on with my mission and stay focussed :)

Cryptic-ness - part of it is dealt with. Someone that has been in my life in a destructive way for a long time, has been told that it's not on. This is a MASSIVE step. Again I won't go into details while eyes may be reading but even he will probably guess who/what I am on about. I am in a better place now and don't want to be tangled up in anything that is going to hurt me and others. As for the rest, will have to wait and see!

I have about £1.50 non-bills money left to last to the end of the month which is just ridiculous. But am taking a day at a time and shouldn't need to spend anything much. I have a wedding later this month so may well use some of this to plug the gap but it won't be much.

    I have spent:

    £6 car wash
£5ish work lunches where I haven't got to the supermarket in time
    £35 haircut
£30 counselling - £15 done, £15 tucked away for next time
    £10 DIY store sanding/filling stuff
    £12 food budget top up
    £2 earplugs

Counselling - I think there are probably another few sessions to go, but I already get this at a very good rate and it is brilliant for me.

Haircut - this will be part of the new SOA once the extra harp payments are done which will be soon. With a fringe there will be a little extra maintenance so am determined to just go every 6 weeks as my hair grows so bloody quick, and a freebie fringe trim in between if required. I do my colour myself these days so that's something.

I am off to get some practice done - the funeral is looming and I need to feel confident on the day for when the inevitable wobbles strike. Although I will be in good company, my dad knows every note of what I am going to play even though he is not musical. Mum is of course, but what i am playing - the slow movement from Beethoven's Emperor Concerto, which is heart-stoppingly beautiful - isn't really her bag so she won't notice the mistakes unless I panic and make it obvious! :D
