  • evening :)

much better day today, surprisingly so but noticed that there was a lifting of mood so that was good.

I had a really productive day at work which was brilliant for me :T I enjoyed what I was doing, and clearly something was working as everything I had put down on my work from home list for this week has now been achieved. This job has been tough as it's a very different way of working to what I was doing before, but I am learning things about organising my time and motivating myself so that's got to be good :)

I'm still a bit despondent on the lack of weight loss, but realistically, I have achieved so much in other areas of my life since the new year, so this is not a deal breaker. I am looking at doing the Lemon Detox Diet for a couple of days again on my week off at the end of Feb (worked before when I was in Bath) if things still aren't shifting. However, really I think after a couple of weeks of being sensible and not drinking too much if at all, plus keeping up with shredding, the weight should start to drop.

I have a monster day tomorrow - hideously early start so I can drop the pooch back at my ex hubby's, then off to work, then home and some tidying up for a viewing on Saturday afternoon (fingers and toes crossed!), plus printing some music off ready for a jam session on Saturday afternoon in London with a harp friend. I am very excited about this :) not sure where it will lead musically but not to worry, that's part of the fun!

Saturday morning I have FINALLY given in and booked in for a haircut. This is long overdue. I should have dyed my hair so I'm totally good to go but have run out of energy so can hopefully do it on Sunday instead before I go out for dinner for my dad's birthday (on Monday)

Right.....going to watch Corrie, then shred, then do a little bit of harp and then off to bed for an early night :)

    Hi Little_h

Sorry for not popping by this week but its been busy at home with DH away etc

Hope the viewing went well on Saturday and that you enjoyed your trip to the hairdressers. I am due to go at the end of the week and I can't wait. I love getting my head massaged when they're putting the conditioner in. I get it cut every 8 weeks its my one treat that I can't give up. I've had to give up buying as many new clothes, shoes and make up so its my last remaining vice.

Hope you've had a good weekend xx

  • hi,

just got home from a staggeringly amazingly fabulous weekend :j

had my haircut yesterday morning :T and then headed off to London to stay with my harping friend. We had a brilliant jam session, played all afternoon and into the early evening, all manner of jazz stuff and lots of classical stuff too. We are putting together a concert around March time and I can't wait! Somehow we both draw a lot of confidence from playing together, it is a lot less scary trying new things when there is someone else to lean on :) I met her on a jazz workshop course in Rotterdam and we really clicked.

We went out for dinner last night (with Pizza Express/Clubcard vouchers so free food :j) and then a couple of drinks in her favourite bar in Shoreditch. She lives in Bow and I had never really spent much time in that area of London so that was really nice to see new places. It's very different to where I live which although on the edge of a big town, is really quite rural. I love the city too (favourite is Manchester!) and always feel rejuvenated if I am in a big buzzy city for a few days.

This morning she went off to her church for a rehearsal and I went for a lovely quiet cup of coffee and sat and read a v trashy magazine for an hour or so. It was some very welcome peace and quiet and I loved it. PLus the Salvation Army marching band walked past down Oxford Street which really lifted my heart, I thought I would burst. It has been a musically significant weekend!

I went back to her church for the main service, it was nice to meet some of her friends etc and try something new, but it was quite an unusual type of service and branch of the church, I'm not sure it's for me (I am exploring lots of new things at the moment!) but we had a good old yarn about all things spiritual last night and on the bus today, which was good.

I am shattered now, am back to thinking I want to stay in my house as it has the space i need for my harp etc and I just don't want to move. Who knows how I will feel tomorrow! So I am curled up in jammies, dropping off as we speak, and will shortly be heading off to bed for an early night. I am stuck into reading Slumdog Millionaire at the moment and I'm hooked so it has been difficult leaving that unread all weekend :rotfl: I love books like that, the way they take over your life and conscious thought for hours/days at a time :)

tomorrow will be a busy day at work and then off to counselling in the evening. thinking lots about matters of the heart, so it will be good to discuss these.

Overall, I have had a good week despite the shaky middle. Although I am beyond tired, I am feeling a lot of creative energy at the moment and can't wait to enjoy using that - I wonder where it will take me :D All very exciting anyway :j

sorry I haven't read anyone else's diaries for a few days but will catch up tomorrow! thank you for reading x
