I'm debt free.:j_party_:dance: I can't believe it. Our last debt was on 0% so I was tempted to let it run on into January, but my OH fancied finishing the year and finishing our debts, and I kept looking at the "how much we've all paid off" thread and wanting to put a nice no. on it. So, we have just been into our joint account, checked carefully and made an extra payment.
This year we've paid £6,901.43 off our debts. I feel almost drunk with joy:beer:
Unfortunately I am thinking of doing a masters degree, so could take out a career development loan in 2010, and may have to pay at least £800 if I fail my dissertation and need to redo it. but that will be temporary and manageable debt. We are going to have savings, ISAs, mortgage overpayments (but not all straightaway!). Wooo hooo.
Thanks so much to everyone for inspiring me to overcome my fear of bank statements and thinking about money. We have shaved 6 months off our DFD in the last 3-4 months. I have lots left to do, like defeat the supermarkets that steal my money and get the hang of meal planning, to build on and sustain our position.
We are going to visit a friend for NYE, then I will need to be back to my books to try and save £800+ by writing a dissertation for 5 Jan that gets enough marks to get referred for a resubmission.
Huge hugs to everyone and best wishes for your DF journeys.Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0
