The education stuff is in Emile I believe - I havent read that one sorry!
I think he was a tutor when he was younger - he lived with some older woman at the time as part of a 3 some apparently...
I suggest by-passing athens - search for what you need on Google Scholar and then just noting down the DOIs for when Athens is up and running again
Good luck!0 -
Yeah he had five kids with one woman and gave 'em all away!! :O worse than eastenders on a good day! Thanks for the tip on Google Scholar, never heard of it before
My main worry is references too, they want loads from me but can only find one book so far
oh well... its only my first year, things can only get better!

Scholar is the way to go - you can view journal abstracts for free but will need to wait for athens/uni portal to be back up for the full-text of articles - but it should give you an idea what to look for.
Also when you can get in to the portal check what resources they have paid for - like they might do proquest which is a content aggregator so you can search journals and ebooks at once
Finding the books/articles is the hardest part to be honest - do you have a list for the module? Usually you can through the references of these books to get other ideas of where to look:D:D
Edit: Oh and one other thing to try in the new year - go and have a chat with the librarian about the best resources for your course - you might have to make an appointment but there should be a specialist in your area who can point out good stuff0 -
They're pretty sketchy to be honest, my course is full time but only 2days a week which is only eight hours a week...!! Barely get to see anyone! I'm going to my local library on tuesday..hopefully i'll be okay after being sedated to get some more books0

Happy Birthday Pap and Sally!
I feel like crap today, I've stayed up watching tv till 3am the last two nights, I need to pull that back. Went into town to pay in my change, forgot it was NYE and didn't know that they close the main road off so it took 40 mins to go less than a mile. Then realised I'd forgotten my purse so couldn't go to Tesco for the Euros and stuff. So I've just come home. I'm sooo tempted to get Domino's for tea, I got my cold weather payment today so I've got a bit extra (I'm £90 in credit on my electric so I might as well spend the payment on whatever and run down the excess, rather than faff about withdrawing the excess and then putting aside the payments to pay for the extra heating).
Sorry, I don't really know anything about Rousseau and education, it's more his social contract etc that I've studied.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
BB-have you ever considered doing some sort of "advanced driver" course thingy? I had a minor bump a few years ago, after 25 years or so bump free driving, and it really knocked my confidence.DH suggested it was pyschological more than anything else so I booked a few sessions with an advanced instructor who got me back together again....just a thought..Debt-free...and staying that way...0

Good idea SRM
I'm going to have to bite the bullet and learn now. I had about 15 lessons when I was 17 but got made redundant before I could put in for my test and couldn't afford to carry on. Never really needed to bother again after that but if DH can't then I think I'm going to have to get my arris into gear (:D) and get on with it. Expensive lark tho."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
I'm all glammed up and ready to one of our hotels for their new year party! Starting to feel good about myself at long last! Have a fantastic night whatever you are doing. Im sure most of us want to forget 2009 and put it behind us, I know I do! So 2010 is on its way, lets see what it brings . . . . raise your glasses to 2010! Cheers
