DMP - Which companies accept & which fight it?

I am due to speak to CCCS next week, and am hoping to set up a DMP to start repaying my debts.
I was just wondering if some companies are well known for causing problems and fighting the payment offered?
Which ones are usually very nice and accept?
I have heard MBNA are often a problem, luckily I dont owe them anything. :j

Thank your lucky stars you don't owe to MBNA, mate, they are driving me to the brink!
I've been on a self-arranged DMP for 6 months now and with the exception of MBNA, and Cahoot, they have all been pretty helpful.
1) M & S agreed to a 12 month reduced payment plan straight away and froze interest and charges.
2) MORGAN STANLEY (I have a loan as well as card with them) were quite willing to freeze interest and charges for a 6 month period after I sent a S.O.A. and then spoke to them on the phone.
3) EGG resisted at first (I also have loan with them, which has been passed on to Moorcroft ) but eventually agreed after defaulting account.
4) MINT - ditto.
5) BARCLAYCARD accepted a reduced payment for 3 months only but still charge interest, but only small amount owing them, so manageable.
6) CAHOOT - refused my offer and chasing me to this day, but I just send my payment anyway as Nationaldebtline advised me.
7) MBNA - multiple cards with them under different guises, and they are just totally taking the !!!!!!! They are handing out charges the way Graham Poll hands out yellow cards!! Left, right and centre, I've lost count, for example this month's statement from one of their cards, I've been charged a total of £140 interest and overlimit fee (which accumulated from previous months' charges). My debts with them are actually spiralling because they're not willing to budge at all. I'm sure there's something out there to the effect that they are breaking some kind of banking code by not helping me in my present financial situation, but dealing with debt on a daily basis (especially my level of debt) can be truly soul-destroying and debilitating as you know, just haven't the energy at the moment to go the rounds with them. It makes me laugh they keep writing (because not taking their bloody constant round the clock calls - silencer on) - 'please call us so we can help you to resolve the situation' , but right at the onset of my problems when I called them they just didn't want to know.
Hope this has been of help to you so you have an idea of what to expect.
But then, if you are a regular on this site, you'll know that everyone's experience differs with different creditors, but there does seem to be a consensus that MBNA are difficult -translation - UTTER !!!!!!!!0 -

My fiance is currently through CCCS with his debt management plan.
Out of 13 creditors (including MBNA) the only company being difficult and not accepted the offer of payment is Next - the offer is £5 and they said they don't accept anything less than £10.
Lloyds TSB are also being a bit difficult saying they haven't received the proposal for payment and details from CCCS so can't freeze interest - but we can deal with that0 -

Hiya Spud. Best of luck with the phone call.
I'm on a DMP but one I've done myself with advice from the National Debtline. I just thought I'd add my experiences with creditors:
GE Capital Bank Debenhams, BHS and Mothercare Storecards - refused to start with, but after some more correspondence have accepted the offer and stopped all charges.
Creation Adams Storecard and Barclaycard - Were very difficult, but after refusing to up my offer, and just paying what I'd offered, they now accept the plan and have stopped all charges (although they did take around 6 months to accept).
Capital One Visa card - No problem at all with all charges stopped.
Marks and Spencer loan - No problem at all but no charges as interest was included at the beginning of the loan.
Abbey Bank account overdraft - I had a default notice, but they have never written to acknowledge my difficulties, I just keep ringing and paying each month.
Abbey MBNA Visa card - No problem at all with all charges stopped.
Westcot Abbeyloan - Abbey paid no attention to my letters, and then sent me a default notice and sold my debt on. Westcot were difficult, but have now accepted. There were no charges on this as interest was included from the beginning of the loan.
All in all, the most difficult for me were Abbey. I think the fact that they dealt with all three debts differently confused and annoyed me.
I hope this can help someone.DMP mutual support number 174Total debt now (April 10) £0! - total paid off £30,221 or 100%I'm now debt free after 6 years!!:jNon smoker since June 2006 :j0 -

MBNA - wanted extra £5 but have halfed interest, stopped charges and will review in 3mths.
Next - wanted extra £5 but stopped charges and interest for 4mths.
these two were the most difficult.
Still waiting for one which i think are going to be the bain of my life. Allied International company (debt collectors) already had bullying phone calls - not heard anything since i sent in my offer of payment. Have just sent a second letter requesting they communicate with me, its usually me ignoring the problem!!!!!!!!!!!!DFW NERD 276: Proud to be dealing with my debts.Champagne taste and lemonade money!!!
