oooooo can I join in? I'm new to the site...pregnant with my first and want to get organised before becoming a SAHM in June!
Tell me something lovely ladies.....how do some of you never iron? Am I missing something? All our stuff is so creased I don't see how we could get away with it! xxxx0 -
Just quickly stopping by to say hi, getting the washing up done before DD wakes up, she was ment to have her bath half hour ago but has decided sleep is more important right now. Thing is if we don't do bath times she wont sleep tonight, but if we wake her up and plonk her in the bath she'll scream the house down and wont relax enough to go back to sleep :rolleyes:GC July: £0/£1200

I think I need to join as well as I'm a great list maker and not so great at crossing things off the list
At the moment I'm a SAHM for another 4 weeks but if anything I need to become even more organised when I go back to work as I'm going back full time. Will make my full to do list tomorrow but for now food!!
Week 1/52 - Theme - Food Shopping
1. Do you do your food shop in-store or online & why?
Used to do it online when Mr T was offering extra points but do it in store now as I find it easier and I can check the sell by dates myself, choose what veg / fruit looks good etc.
2. How often do you do the food shopping?
Once a week
3. What is your food shopping budget (if you have one) and what/who does that cater for?
It was around £250 a month for me, DH, 5 month old DD (so formula and nappies) and dog including all cleaning and toiletries. Unfortunately we lost our dog just before Christmas so no longer need food etc. and DH got made redundant so I think this is the biggest area to look at.
4. Do you find your budget is sufficient?
It's the main area I overspend on so I really need to look at getting this down.
5. Do you keep a price book? (if yes please describe it)
Ummm, no
6. Do you regulary use coupons/store 'points' cards?
Yes, I am a coupon and loyalty point queen
7. If you use coupons/cards how do you organise them?
I store them in a clear pencil case and go through them when I'm doing my list and attach the ones I'm going to use to the back of the list.
8. Name 3 items of the 'value' range you would recommend to anyone.
Ashamed to say have never bought anything from the value range.
9. Name 3 items you must have at brand level
Beans, Ketchup and tinned spaghetti
10. What one thing do you most struggle with/annoys you the most/you would like to do better when it comes to the food shop.
Reduce the amount I spend, work out exactly what I have in the house before I make my random shopping lists of things I think we need (that's how I end up with 15 cans of tuna and 10 jars of tomato puree in my cupboards!!!)You laugh because I'm different - I laugh because you're all the same0 -
My plans for today are
1. Weigh in (done)
2. Half hour step on wiifit done
3. Check banks and update (done)
4. Finish girls laundry done

Well my goal for today was to sort out the child tax credits as new partner moved in permanently yesterday and it seems we'll still keep 65%ish of them as well as the non means tested child benefit. I even got new partners dinner sorted and surprised her when she got in. She's not used to people doing things for her and she was really appreciative. Looks like I have to keep up the impressing

I absolutely adore my dishwasher as much as it is possible to adore a kitchen appliance lol. my one big regret in life is that I didnt buy one sooner! I always used to hate standing over the kitchen sink after tea while everyone else went off into the lounge to relax/play. And it was the number one cause of domestic arguements between me and my OH. A dishwasher has really lightened my daily load - I love it. Only downside is the electric that it uses to run
I agree with this!!!
My dishwasher broke down when I was pregnant and I cried! It took about 3 weeks for the part to come and every time I had to do the dishes I heaved all over the sink because I had Hyperemesis.
I LOVE IT! and i'm not ashamed to admit it :rotfl:0
