Its really about clearing my head a bit, CG - as you know, when skiing you can't think of anything else, so it will be good for me to get an hour of "head space".

If it carries on for more than another couple of weeks, lucielle, then I will go to the docs, but I do find that sleeping tablets make me feel worse in the mornings - and as I have got to have a clear head for work, I don't like to take them unless absolutely necessary. However, I could do with just a few nights of consecutive sleep.....

I have a week off work at the beginning of April, which is 6 weeks away, so I am hoping that I can plod on through until then.

Right, need to get showered before the kids get back from their paper rounds, otherwise we will be late for skiing and we will then be on the back foot all day.......

Have you tried taking nightnurse? I have had problems sleeping over the years due to various stressful situations, trouble is lack of sleep makes normal day to day activities 10 times harder. This works for me: Two nights running take night nurse (for some reason it has to be the liquid-the tablets don't seem to work for me!) about one hour before you want to sleep. I would not advise it long term but if you get two nights good sleep your body will have already got itself into some sort of routine the rest should follow naturally. If needbe take it again after 3 nights, just once. Obviously you need to check you are able to tae it if you are on any other meds. but I know you are sensible.

Or you could try Piriton. They are non addictive but always help me to feel drowsy (recommended by my doctor when I couldn't sleep due to itchy excema brought on my stress a few years ago)

I think you are doing great, and fab news about the skiing :j

I am sensible, yes, but I did have an *issue* with taking things to help me sleep during a particularly bad period when I was a teenager.....and I took rather too much to be healthy, and since then I have resisted taking anything that I could be in danger of relying on unless absolutely necessary :o

Hence trying to get by on occasional nytol and aromatherapy oils etc :o

  • Well good for you anyway, i'm not up to your skiing level lol! all I can think about is not killing me or anyone around me with the odd scream and profanity thrown in when I think i'm about to lose it! :rotfl:

I'm not cut out to be an adrenalin junkie! much more at home in a swimming pool, but I agree, when you concentrate on what you are doing there's no room for anything else - very theraputic, ttfn cgx

Is it this thing with 4 skiers at a time? I have no idea what's going on but it's very exciting! :D
