Hypno I've finally tracked down your thread. I'm clearly not as devoted though because I can't be bothered reading from start to finish...ha ha ha. Still, I'll be following with interest now... :D

It has been VERY eventful: go back to page 70 and start from there to avoid putting your foot in it! ;)

Its ok - twinklie knows whats what - no need to go back and read!

I've left the children with OH, and come home and done over an hour's yoga. I have also decided to go back to skiing myself (apart from my annual adrenaline fix in the Alps, that is).....so whilst I am not ready to think about race training again, I will be going to the Masters Coaching session starting from this Wednesday - which will definitely be my "me" time, and which won't cost the earth either, as it will be covered by time I have already worked up there in the past.

Wow....that's amazing. I need to get back on my snowboard over summer because we've just booked 2 weeks back in Breck (I did 2 seasons there when I finished uni) in the US. Sooooo....I need to get my legs strong again.

A few trips to the indoor snowdome is called for in summer. I wish I had some girlfriends that were into the whole snow scene though...only my male friends like it (and DH) and sometimes it'd be nice for a bit of female company. I think this would defo help with your "me" time though. Give you something to focus on AND plenty of exercise all at the same time. :D

I am lucky in that a lot of our lives is focused around skiing, so it forms a large amount of my social life (what little there is of that!), and I do have girlfriends that I can go away for a week on the snow with.

I stopped skiing every week, though, after Dad died - because I was angry, and I had no desire to take care on the slope.....meaning I would either hurt myself or hurt someone else as I bombed about without a care :o and I never really got back into it. We have a fab facility just down the road from us, and although the children still ski there loads every week, I need to get back to it, and was reminded of that fact when DS was training this morning.....to which I agreed.

It will be an hour or so of headspace, a bit of adrenaline and some good friends each week, which is just what the doc ordered!
