good luck with the deep cleaning and also RESTING! you need to do that too you know *looks stern*
take care
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Yes, I will just let the next couple of days happen as they happen, if you know what I mean - the house is not too untidy, so even doing just a quick hoover and dust will be ok, although I do really want to clean a bit deeper than that and start sorting things out properly.
I also have some paperwork that needs doing, too, so will try and at least get that started before the end of the weekend.....it's a job I have been putting off for a while, but needs to be done, so is heading towards the top of my "to do" list now.
The children are having their first visit to OH since he moved out - they are not staying overnight, but going there after school for dinner, then getting the bus home later this evening.....so I will be ready for their tears and "I miss Dad" stuff when they get back
And of course, I will have much coffee and crappy daytime TV over the next couple of days too, I reckon.....
Off to check banking etc, have a good day everyone xSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Good morning Hypno,
Hope the day goes well, and DS & DD cope well with the first visit.
Hope you managed to get some sleep.
Scratchies already done here, the highlight was a 25p!!
Good luck with sorting out your new budgets. It won't be easy until the finances settle again though, and figures start to firm up.
Have a good day everyone0 -
Morning, try not to spend all day worrying about tonight - I know, easy said
.
Once things get moving on the finances I'm sure that will really help so you can plan. DH got accepted on a certain survey site not to be mentioned so will see what happens there, and also have V!rgin withdrawal accepted without depositing, so will keep going with them until they stop me!
The fact that they accepted you can do the mortgage is fantastic. cant remember whether you put the last of the unsecured in it, but you will have less sets of numbers to watch going out which should make it easier to watch whats going in. IYSWIM.0 -
The mortgage is subject to the house valuation, which I am hoping to arrange today (came home yesterday to a message on the answerphone from the valuers, so should be able to sort out this morning)....and yes, I am putting everything bar the 0% card on the mortgage, to free up my budget for day to day living.
Then, if my budget is working well, I will start overpaying by a similar amount to the "cost" of the original loans if that makes sense, so that I don't end up paying my 2 year loan over 18 years (which would be easy to do, but against all MSE principles and very costly in the long run!).
So, at this point, it is very much an agreement in principle, but had this happened a year or so ago, I would not have been even given that....things have come a long way and for that I am grateful!
I'm not worried about tonight, re the kids, but just a bit sad that it is now part of our weekSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Thats a good plan with mortgage and we all know that you have MSE ingrained in you.
It will feel a bit odd, but once it becomes part of the "routine" and normal teenage grumps kick in you might be pleased of these nights off
Fingers crossed for survey - loan to value is pretty important these days, but you and they must have a good idea of the value so hopefully not too far out.0 -
Hypno, it's a chance to organise an activity for you each week, with no problems about what to do with the kids
Maybe if it's not the right day for something you want to do you could rearrange it?

AFter all my years of searching property !!!!!! sites, working out income multiples and LTVs on the back of envelopes, I have a really good idea of the realistic value of the house.
However, the Halifax computer works on a "house price index" system, which doesn't allow for regional differences in the level of house price changes, so the figure that they came up with is very different (and is not going to result in me getting the mortgage).
So, whilst it should be ok when a "real person" does the value, at the moment it is "computer says no".......
On the plus side, at least it is only saying "no" based on the value of the house, and not based on my credit record, salary, level of debt, or perceived ability to repay.
Right, off to get dressed and make a start on my huuuuuge list!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Hi Hypno,
Hope all goes well for the kids and their first visit.
Good idea about the mortgage, I think this will work out well for you financially and no doubt you will be mortgage free before we can blink.
Happy housework, I'm off to do some shopping...not for me alas but for DH who broke his watch yesterday arguing with a subcontractor and for DS's friend's birthday.0
