surfbabe - hugs - sorry about the diagnosis. Do they know what kind of speed the illness is moving at? Is it early stages still or later on?

Hypno - glad you managed to eat today - hope you get some rest too. I bet you are looking forward to your days off

    Good morning,

Hope you got at least a reasonable amount of sleep Hypno.

Surfbabe - sorry to hear the news about your mother :grouphug:

Shaun - hope things are Ok too :grouphug:

Thought about joining the 20 pound note challenge, but don't normally use cash at all. I like using the cashback credit cards too much, I love banks etc. giving me money for what I'd spend anyway :D

My challenge for the month is trying to get a trip back to London and a min 8 nights hotel for as close to zero as possible!!! We've got some airline & hotel loyalty scheme points, so got to try to juggle them as best as possible. If we get into the right hotel, the loyalty scheme gives us breakfast, afternoon tea & evening drinks & nibbles in the exec. lounge for free, so don't need to buy much food wise, and can pay for guests to come in too, which with London prices is good.

Will meet up with DS's there, and they want to go to the theatre, any idea of the cheapest options, not used lastminute for theatre tickets, thought of the Leicester Sq. booth, but I'm sure someone on here's going to have good ideas.

Hope everyone has a good day :)

Another night of little sleep - I should not be surprised really, but I could do with a little respite :(

milann - I pulled together all the money for the skiing - so just petrol to and from Heathrow for the next trip to cover, but everything else is paid for. I think I can safely say that they won't be doing so much next year, so I am glad they have been able to do so this year.

Am hoping for another NSD today - I need to make my money last as long as possible. I've managed 18 NSDs so far this year which is probably more than I managed in the whole of 2009 :o

Right, hope you all have a good day - am off to scratch and bank, and survive another day.

Sorry to hear the sleep wasn't too good, hope it improves soon.

On the skiing for DS & DD, your circumstances have changed, so maybe there's more chance of getting grants & bursaries, or at least more 2 child discounts. Each time OH got made redundant, we had a far higher success rate for our two for music ones for courses & towards instruments.

Surf babe - sorry to hear your news x

Hypno - I'll join you on the carp nights sleep...I seem to spend most of the day dreaming about my bed.

My £20 will be broken into today :o I'm taking DH off to test out some new electric wheels (he was in a car accident last year and has spinal and nerve damage) Going to have lunch out with the £20 and say sod it - sometimes life just needs living :D

Thanks for all the hugs - have told all the important people including the kids who are in shock at the moment and both want to come home from Uni. Have told them they can't - is that awful? It is the later stages as she can't eat or drink.

Am going to be getting a car park pass for the hospital tomorrow. Brother is going today but he has MS which is starting to flair up under the stress.

Anyway - sorry to hear you didn;t get a good nights sleep Hypno - I'm sure you will eventually once you get into new routines etc.

Hugs all around and thanks for the support

I think it is right for the children to stick to their routine as much as possible, surfbabe, although perhaps they want to say goodbye? However, sometimes saying goodbye to the person they have become is harder than accepting that the person they last saw is the one they want to remember, if that makes sense.

Whatever you all do will be extremely hard, and however you do it you will wonder whether there are other, better, ways of doing things, but you will make the right decision for the here and now, and that is all you can expect to do each time.

As for my own sleep, yes, I am sure it will settle down in due course.

Surfbabe, I was wondering how to word a reply, but Hypno came to the rescue , it's what we've found too. Especially with Uni or 6th form they can't afford to lose too much time. You just have to make the decisions that feel right to you at the time.
