Well, banking shows that my barclayloan and my mortgage payment have both been made, but I haven't updated my snowball or my signature because there seems little point at the mo. Once the new mortgage is completed I will do new figures and a new sig, and work out what point I will consider myself to be debt free.......

Also, on a "money in" rather than a "money out" note, I have received a refund of council tax of £58, being the difference for Feb and March between full rate and single person rate, so that was done quickly, and I have transferred that amount to my savings.

I've got £14 ish of quidco money that has been marked as "sent" which again will go into savings once it is received in my bank account, and a friend owes me £35 for a concert ticket, that she will pay me for shortly, but other than that, there is nothing expected in for February.

I think I will give myself February "off" moneywise, and concentrate on just getting by, but then will set myself new challenges re ebay, car boots etc come March when the weather starts to be a bit better, the days are longer, and things will generally have settled down a little bit more for me.

  • I am so pleased to hear you are giving yourself February off moneywise, you deserve to have some time for just you and the kids as you have more than enough on your plates. Hopefully it will give you some much needed headspace and time for you to adjust.

Hope you have a good day and manage to get some sleep tonight x

What a bummer hypno. just when you were getting through the tunnel and seeing the light at the end this horror leaps out at you. i am so sorry that this has happened to you.
As everyone else has said you are dealing with the situation in a really admirable way. As se99 said if both the children will be away together it might be a good idea to arrange things for yourself so that you have a few high spots to look forward to/ keep you going while you're on your own.
I have been away for 10 days so have been catching up with your diary since Sunday night when I got back or I would have posted earlier.

Surfbabe and shaun..............I hope you are both OK and that your respective parents are coping.

A trip to a bank! I like those visits because they involve no expense and are generally quite straightforward. I've also picked up a small grocery visit for the following week - not much, but it will cover the cost of my bread and milk for the week, so will make my grocery budget stretch a little further, and its in walking distance of work, so no petrol required.

I reckon Hypno on a month off "moneywise" is still a force to be reckoned with :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

You may slow down but I can't see you stopping it just wouldn't be you :D

i bet there will stil be a mystery shop, or a bingo, or a scratch or two creeping in there!! I think somthimes we can have just as much of a month off by doing what we always do but not making it as important as it seemed previously. That can give us as much headspace as stopping completley but with the advantage of not making us worry that we are falling short.

I've got a bonus day off today and have listed 11 things on ebay, yawn! hope you are having a nice day hon, be careful with the no sleep malarky, i think the end of the week will do you good to chillax and catch up a bit. xx
