So sorry to hear your news Hypno.0

Thank you so much for your lovely messages. It has been really hard not to post all of this in the last couple of weeks, but I really needed to ensure there was no way of the children finding out via a third party, or cyberspace.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Hypno I am in awe that you have managed to hold it together enough for DD not to find out before DS came home...I'm not sure if I could be that dignified (although I love my children dearly) if my OH dropped a bomb shell like that!! Plus you have managed to work and sort out all them financial changes and practicalities too in such a short time.
You are one fantastic mummy because that is surely one of the hardest things you have had to do for them xx0 -
I'm sure we can all completely understand that Hypno. We all knew it was something serious as you were just not you.
Are the children ok?0 -

The children reacted as expected - tears and tantrums, but they are good kids, and are very mature in many ways, so we could both talk to them properly, and they have been fab.
We've just driven over to OH new flat, to show the children that there is a bedroom there for them to prove that they are very much wanted by both of us, just in different places - they seem comfortable with that, and have both "booked themselves in" for overnighters with him already, so I think it will be ok.
I'm under no illusions - they are teenagers, and so unpredictable by their very nature, so I have to be ready for resentment, fury, tears at bedtime, and whatever else could come my way, but it could certainly be a whole lot worse.
As for keeping it together for the last two weeks - it has been bloody hard, and a very very long couple of weeks - it is quite a relief that we can now actually start getting on with things!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Well you certainly seem amicable parents and I hope he continues to be a good dad. I have a friend who is really good friends with her ex husband now they are parted and they are fab parents apart, its rare but very possible.
I know money is still going to be important but the name of this diary is even more important now, please lean into friends/relatives/mse friends for help and support and don't shoulder this alone.0 -
So sorry to hear your news you have been very brave keeping quiet all this time but you did what you had to do for your children and thats all we can do as mothers.
Please don't forget yourself though this is a big shock to the system and you need time to co to terms with it emotionally - the practical things as you say are the easy bit.
I have no doubt that you will get through this and be the stronger for it. I refuse to insert dodgy hug but you know that there are a lot of people on here who are in a better place than they would have been without your support and inspiration so I hope our support will help you.
Love to you and the children
