I have been comparing Online tariffs and Shop tariffs and find O2-500 for 18 months (@35/mth, 1000 mins, 100 texts) is the only one better than the shop tariffs.
Is there any other online tariff better than Shop tariffs?.0 -
(Posted this in Freebies too but thought it relevant here)
I'm sure a lot of you have signed up for o2 long weekends, where you get free weekend calls (forget how many) as long as you're in your 'home' postal code (the one you registered for the offer).
Now, I used to work for o2, and when my phone was being charged for what I thought should be free calls I gave them a call to talk tech with them.
The offer is so unfair - basically when you register, it only applies the deal to your nearest cellsite (think big antenna!). There can be tens of cellsites where you live (I live in a city centre and my little postal code has 5 cell sites). You have no way of knowing which cell site you are connected to, but if it isn't the nearest, you are charged for the call. See cell sites can only handle so many calls before your call is handled by another one.
You can't even make a short call, check your credit, then call again, because you might connect to a different cell site!
So in effect it is a total lucky dip whether you get your free call. So think before you make a call on the basis it's free - it may well not be (in fact the busier the place you live is, the odds are against you!)0 -
