I'm always a little dubious of recipes that ask for 'veg oil' as mine tend to turn out like some wholesome health food. (think carrot cake)
Could I substitute butter instead or do you promise that these do not have the slightest hint of 'healthfood' about them?

I used a pot of sour cream and a small amout of veggy oil and it came out well:)An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T

I've not tried them yet, as I do already have cake in the house and I thought I better show some restraint
but when I do make them I shall sub melted butter for the oil, and I might add chunks of chocolate too - sorry Noozan I'm a chronic recipe improver.

I made some more today
I took them out of the oven at the right time and there's a slight squishiness in the middle. I would imagine you could sub butter for the oil. I chopped up some Hotel Chocolat batons and mixed them into the mix I made today and it was a definite improvement. Next time, I'm going to add some hazelnuts too. I'm going to get soooooo fat!
Ccstar - how much sour cream did you use in relation to oil? I won't feel so bad if I can make them with less fat....assuming there's less fat in the cream compared to oil(and they still taste the same)
Bigpaws - there's no hint of health food about these, if only!!!I have the mind of a criminal genius. I keep it in the freezer next to Mother....0 -
I'll be giving these a go in the morning I think!!!! (unless I magically get time to get it ready before my dinner guests arrive! Then I guess it could be cooking whilst we're eating... hmmm)DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Well they were AWFULL - hence why I have had to hide the remains of the brownies so OH can't find them and eat them all before tonight. Made them for puds last night with icecream and the bowls were all empty so I think they get the thumbs up
Thanks for that recipe!!!DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
