  • you'll need an 8 fluid oz cup. as its an american recipe (volume) you can't convert to weights. Dop you have a measuring cup for liquids - that will work.
  • So if I measure out 8fl oz of water in my jug, and find a cup that holds exactly that, I can use that to measure out this recipe?

Sounds so scrummy, and I have to feed my rather hungry uncle tonight lol.

    .
    Yes.

A big yogurt pot works well as you can pour 8 fl oz of water in, mark it on the outside of the pot and cut the pot down to the mark so you have a custom made cup measure.

A set of US measuring cups is a useful thing to have in the kitchen, they are available in kitchen shops ;)
  • Thanks so much!

(and don't say that - I'm off to the lakes next weekend....and have given strict instructions to all involved to not let me go into that kitchen place that begins with 'L'....I'll come out with half the shop lol)

  • yup, that works. I know someone that decided that a coffee cup was OK to use, but then ended up with a really runny mix cause there was more liquid and not enough flour in the mix, it never cooked!
  • JUST TRIED THIS RECIPE FOR THE FIRST TIME TODAY
I THINK MY HUSBANDS JUST FALLEN IN LOVE WITH THESE  LOOKS LIKE I'LL HAVE TO FIND SOMEWHERE TO HIDE THEM WHEN I COOK THEM OTHERWISE THEY MAY ONLY LAST A COUPLE OF HOURS
  • Well, I found me a cup, and whipped up a batch for pudding last night. (And burnt my arm on the oven door in the process lol).

They were YUM! Thanks so much all - my uncle (the gannet) loved 'em too!
