ah i might have a tootle down...

Will be lucky to get one now I would think. The error has been known to Argos for over 24hrs now. Some people were being refused instore this time yesterday.
  • just had a phone call from argos to say they have cancelled my order and they're not dispatching any at these price as it was a pricing error. didn't make too much of a fuss even though i am a tad gutted for my daughters birthday as i'll never be able to buy one at full price (was stretching it at this price but her big brother and sister said they would help me out) but hopefully some will keep slipping through the net
    good luck!

Unfortunately I have also just had the call notifying me that my order was cancelled.

I didn't bother fighting it, the agents that are making the calls won't have the power to overturn it, nor will their supervisors.

It would have been nice to fight it via trading standards etc etc but you have to evaluate the pros and cons to it. For me the cons outweigh the pros. If the DSi was for a child that was looking forward to it then I suppose it's a different story.

Congrats to those that got one, hope you all enjoy your bargains!

Well done, nice to see someone else who understands contract law. Not sure if the person you dealt with at head office had the initials of AM, if so, I've explained contract law to her previously, in writing, with a printout of a small claims court claim form attached that I'd filled in, ready to submit.

I'd make a point of taking a photo of the DSi, and the receipts, and a £20 note, and posting a copy to the store manager! Or even better go in and say

"I thought you should know that I managed to get the DSI for £79.99. If you'd not broken the law initially, Argos would've got £79.99 for the DSi, as opposed to £59.99, given that you gave me £20 ads a goodwill gesture".

Cheers - will certainly let him konow at some point in the future!!

    Completely agree.

Unfortunately the fact I'm like a dog with a bone is one of my character flaws. :D

I soooo wish I could let go easier. :rotfl:

Those that have one reserved, it might be worth phoning the store and asking them to confirm your reservation without hinting that there is an error. This would give you some more ammo should you be refused in the store.
  • Just read part of the confirmation email they sent me & it says -

"Thanks for shopping at Argos.co.uk, we've confirmed the details for your reservation below*. Please remember that these items have not yet been paid for, and the prices may vary due to special offers - the price you pay will be the price in store on the day you collect. Please quote your reservation number at the store when you collect.
*We'll also send you a copy of these by text if you requested one
