Aha.. Hmm.. I thought they might.
I'm being outwitted by a machine!!
(normally it's the washing machine..)
No one dares talk about washing machines in front of me..I tend to go off on a bit of a rant :rotfl:I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Just a reminder that postage prices go up on the 6th April. For instance a standard paperback weighing between 250-500g will then cost £1.95 2nd class rather than the £1.85 current price. This is making 1p novels look unsaleable even for pro sellers.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. thanks for this reminder, ill leave it another week then start adjusting prices in time for this.
I still cant figure out how even pro sellers can make any money on a book thats over 1kg and has a price of 1p? or maybe there just trying to price everyone else out of the water? risky business!:hello:"Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit, wisdom is knowing it doesn't go in a fruit salad0 -

Some people have postal accounts (that's one thing I would love!) and pay a set amount. Pro sellers are going to make only pennies in future on a 1p novel and anything over 500g going as a packet is an automatic loss.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I'm the process of having a spring clean of some of my cd singles, checking to see if they are worth anything on Amazon (ie £1,00 or more), and I get a big smile on my face when I find a cd single where the cheapest is 15 odd quid
Put it up and some of the serious collectors will buy it to take it out of the system to keep the prices high.
Looks like in the next few weeks I will be listing a job-lot of cd singles on ebay, I need the space in the house
Am I right in thinking those postage credits amazon give to sellers and charge buyers have been the same for years and years (apart from the Vat reduction last year), surely it's time Amazon put them up0 -

Yiu'll find that most Amazon sellers do not want the postage credit put up, there is at least one thread about it on the seller boards already.
Postage credit is just that, an extra you factor in to choose your sale price. Teh argument is that we price ourselves out of th emarket if the credit goes up as we can't sell for less than a 1p. So for instance i have some very thin books that weigh under 100g. I can turn them out on ebay for a couple of quid a go including postage, but the cheapest I can sell them on Amazon is £2.76 so of course no one buys them.
Also with Amazon still having free postage across their full stock we are already fighting a losibg battle with current items as we can't even compete with Amazon.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. A note of thanks to advice given past and present on selling with amazon. you gave me the courage to start and i have been slowly selling bits and bobs for the last year. (some at very high prices.) it's been a very rewarding investment of my time and i'm hugely grateful for the mse site and users. slowly the garage is clearing and so is a tidy sum of money i never knew i could get! best wishes to you all.0

Help, am sitting here surrounded by books, they are everywhere and the cat nearly got concussion a few minutes ago when she knocked a pile over onto herself. I may get even more tomorrow and I just can't see what else to do with them.
I put loads of books and other stuff on freecycle to go and people haven't bothered to colllect and I don't know if they have changed thei rmind or just can't be bothered.
I think I'll be listing all afternoon now and I've still not got the shopping in or done the washing....I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I can't believe people don't pick up books on freecycle, you have to fight for books if they ever come up on ours (Hastings and Bexhill)0
