I think I'll move. I've got another box that I put up and no one even asked for..I was going to try and smuggle that out into someones car if they ever collect the lot they are supposed to.
My youngest was horrified yesterday, his friend came round and I talked him into taking two bag loads home for his mum and he was too polite to refuse.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Help, am sitting here surrounded by books, they are everywhere and the cat nearly got concussion a few minutes ago when she knocked a pile over onto herself. I may get even more tomorrow and I just can't see what else to do with them.
I put loads of books and other stuff on freecycle to go and people haven't bothered to colllect and I don't know if they have changed thei rmind or just can't be bothered.
I think I'll be listing all afternoon now and I've still not got the shopping in or done the washing....
Wish I had something to do .... im stuck at home with my sick 4 year old shes got some sort of tummy bug and ive been off work 4 days now. I cant get on with much just washing clothes and washing up and clearing up sick! Im going a bit mad here!
Sold a book last night hopefully a mate will take it to the post office for me later today, did think about putting it on vacation but dont want to miss out on any sales.
Oh I so want to get out and just wander round some charity shops.:hello:"Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit, wisdom is knowing it doesn't go in a fruit salad0 -
Still listing! And, more frustratingly not one single person from freecycle has turned up to collect the stuff they wanted 'urgently'.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Ah yes, those books that you just can't shift. I bought some York Notes from the library a few weeks back (and posted about it here) and discovered that only two were worth listing on Amazon, which I duly did. The price has now come down (booooooo) and I'm stuck with nine that other people sell for 1p which until April 6 you'd think would be worth it, but the truth is, there are dozens and dozens already and mine are very bashed about.
So - here's the question. Do I smuggle them back into the Library and put them back on the selling table and let the Library sell them for 75p again? Or do I let them sit on my shelf, cluttering the place up and defeating the whole purpose of my learning how to sell on Amazon? Or, do I do a car boot and see if anyone will pay me for them, or do I give them to a charity shop?
I'd really, really like to know what other people think about those four suggestions.Better is good enough.0 -
Ask the library whether they will take the items back as a donation?

I work in a library and to be honest, unless the books are something particularly rare or interesting, they'll either end up getting resold for 10p or be given to a charity shop when they don't sell. Take them to a charity shop and let them get a little bit of money out of them. Somewhere like oxfam do particularly well out of books/educational books0

I'm slowly working my way through the mountain of books but I've had to give in and start using the dump bins at recycling centre now for books as I can't find anyone to take them. Some of these books are 2kg in weight yet there are still newish private sellers with their copies at 1p..I can only assume they haven't worked out how Amazon actually works.
As for freecycle, I think I'll give up. Readvertised several working items, including a Sky box and yet again the person who wanted it desperately has failed to collect it and I've had no messages to say why. I have already dumped the china and furniture items as I couldn't store them any longer on the off chance that someone would actually bother to turn up when they agreed to.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I do wonder if it will be worthwhile selling books etc on amazon for much longer. With the majority of books now are listed starting at 1p its hardly worth it. Very annoying seeing the price fall of a book day by day till its worth nothing!:hello:"Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit, wisdom is knowing it doesn't go in a fruit salad0

There are still some books that are worth while, I've decided to have a dabble in books on Amazon lately and found a few from my bookshelf are worth a few pounds. Also as a buyer I find the 1p listings to good to be true and will actually move up the board to a higher priced item. So might still be worth a gamble and stick out at the price you want for it. After all it doesnt cost you anything to list.
