those hooks look so cool! i was tempted but cant really justify the cost at the moment.

i only managed to do the ears on my teddy last night. so i now have a head and he is looking better than the last one. Taking alot longer to do though!!!

Ds1 and dd found the first teddy I did and were arguing over it last night. Dd wants it for her birthday. Ds1 just wants it but I dont think dh would be happy about ds cuddling a pink sparkly teddy!!!! :P
  • I'm cooking at the moment, will be sitting down to crochet this afternoon :)

Well I have finished by knitting (cardie for dd) and have taken the plunge with crochet, and so far so good!!:j I've been making little squares of double and treble crochet and dd is ecstatically using them as Barbie blankets :rotfl::rotfl:.

So now I'm trying to find a simple project - any recommendations?? Oh and tonight I'm attempting a granny square :eek:.

A big thank you to Hart44 for sending me her Art of Crochet issue 1 and a couple of crochet hooks - it's been invaluable to far.

I now need some of those lovely coloured crochet hooks......

well, i think little animals are easier than granny squares or other squares! i started with a mouse watching a youtube video. if you want the link let me know.
  • Oh, hang on, I found a lovely blog with granny squares which look so easy. The blog owner very kindly emailed me the count for making the squares too :)

here's the instructions for the squares, I hope she doesn't mind me posting them here!
I chained 4 and then joined it to make a ring. Then I made four "clusters" of 3 stitches (DC if you are from the US, TR if you are from the UK) with 2 chain stitches at the corners. Then I tied off and joined the next colour.

Crafting bling works for me!! All my knitting needles are so boring, so these would add some colour :rotfl:.

I am however not meant to be spending, according to dh, so I may have to flog some bits on ebay first to bump the paypal balance up!
