2 weeks to finish it!!!!!!!! i would lose interest. I think thats why I am getting fed up working on the teddy. He has taken 4 evenings and a few hours in the afternoon to do and I think he looks good but I am bored with him now (still got 1 1/2 legs to do and sew him all together!). I am used to spending 2 evenings (maybe 3) on 1 thing then moving onto the next! And I have a few sore fingers and where I dont hold the wool right my little finger is really aching all the time! I think I might have to take a day or 2 off after the teddy is finish to let my hands recover!!!! :rotfl:0

LOL I don't think a hexagon blanket was the best choice for a starter project, then again me and common sense have never really been the best of friends:o.
I can't wait to finish it and move onto something a LOT smaller. If I started something else before I finish it, my past record guarantees that it would remain unfinished for quite some time (like forever). Worst part is I've only just realised that sewing it together isn't the end, I'm going to have to edge it to make it into a rectangular blanket and I haven't got a clue where to begin."Who’s that tripping over my bridge?" roared the Troll.

I have been lurking on this tread and the sewing one for weeks and I have just found an absolute stack of magazines from the late 70's (been de-cluttering boxes in loft). I have got issues 1 to 9 and 11 - 13 of a magaine called stitch by stitch. There are some nice crochet patterns and good step by step instructions of stitches. I also have some Phildar books and there is a lovely girl's waistcoat which I am going to do for grandaughter. Don't think I can post pics yet, but will try to do something somehow.0

I am the same! I need to finish stuff straight away otherwise it wont get done!
I got some time this afternoon to do a bit of crochet. got half a leg and sewing it up to do. will be finished tonight. :T
tangles - i would love to see a picture of the girls waistcoat when its done!0 -
Will try nuttybabe. It is a French pattern from the late seventies and has embroidered flowers on it. I have got lots of bits of wool to do edges and do the embroidery but need to get a few balls of the main colour. (hopefully Monday) then I reckon it can be crocheted in a couple of hours.0

He's lovely and I'm sure your neice is going to love him :T I was looking at that wool the other day and thought about buying it and a purple one but am sticking resolutely to not buying any wool until I've done this blanket. I hope your finger recovers quickly, I'd be tempted to try making something with a bigger hook until it feels better.
Tangles I'd love to see the finished waistcoat too please.
Now I must get back to my pile of hexagon middles or I'll never be finished. I'm starting to think I was slightly ambitious when I thought that I'd be able to finish off the blanket in 2 weeks "Who’s that tripping over my bridge?" roared the Troll.

How easy are teddies to make? Any tips for good patterns or blogs?
