Ooooh! Just found this thread. Last year I set myself the challenge of learning to use a sewing machine. Did that (not 100% perfect but can make a simple item of clothing that doesn't fall apart in the first wash!) so this year decided to move onto crochet. I figured one hook has got to be easier than two needles (knitting)..... nah! I've just about mastered the basic stitches but can't get any further than that. BUT have found a lady locally who does classes, so I'm going to her on Saturday to spend the day learning to crochet. Really looking forward to it!0

Arkonite Babe I am just about up to the wonky square stage too and I have watched Youtube until I am blue in the face lol I think I am going to have to buy the happy hooker.
Gemma classes sound like a great idea but I am on a budget at the moment (not working due to ill health) so they may have to wait.
I would soo love to be able to make that bag or those gorgeous cushions oh well maybe one day.:DStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.
