Hello ladies, I was hoping for some advice on weights of yarns etc...

I want to do the shawl from part 4 of the Art of Crochet (it tookme 2 very odd looking, totally worng attempts before I twigged what I was supposed to be doing, lol....) but the pattern suggests using 7 x 50g Cashmere Merino Silk DK. I'mtrying to use up what I already have in and have some balls of 59% acrylic / 41% wool, 1oz (28.35g) of patons 4 season's wool (sorry, not sure how much of that is relevant :rotfl:)

Would I need 14 balls of this (I don't have that much) or would the wool I have be heaier / lighter for the lame length.

I think what I'm trying to ask is... how many balls of this wool would I need instead?

    Thank you!

    Shortie xx

I've been taking a break over the weekend and got nothing new. I have a few amigurumi orders on the go so I cant see me continuing on Tines ripple pattern for a while yet. But I will continue to follow this thread and see what lovely items you all are working on :)

They're fabulous! I love them, and it's the type of thing I aspire to.

Currently sewing up my knitting and have been having a little go at crochet over the weekend. It's hard...........!!!
