I managed to get two nights in Bournemouth in May for £18, three nights in Oxford in July for £30, and three nights in Brighton for £30. I'm really pleased, although I'm glad I had a heads up from here to check before 6am! I set my alarm for 5am and the £9 rooms were already on the site.

Many thanks MSE, we didn't think we'd be having a holiday this year as we're saving for our wedding in November but these £9 rooms are great.

its inbetween old street station and moorgate station.
We got the tube from moorgate down to the tower of london, tower bridge, st pauls etc, then the tube from tower brige to big ben etc then up to bond street.

but theres not much in walking distance of the hotel.

    hope this helps :D

no you cant cancel saver rooms by choice (which is an option with all other rates) - but the insurance does cover you for things beyond your control that mean you cant use the room - so car breaks down, your train/bus, etc. is delayed by more than 6hrs, a death or serious injury

That's not what my confirmation email says. It states 'Saver rooms can be cancelled but are non refundable'

All the rooms can be cancelled, of course. The insurance (ie: refund) covers cancellations by choice for the more expensive rates, but not for the savers rate. It covers (ie: refund) cancellation by "force majeure" for all rooms, however. That's what Deadrobot meant I think.

Edit: you can always cancel Flexible rate rooms up to 24hours before your stay for a full refund. Insurance doesn't come into it. You would use your insurance if you were prevented from staying there after that time limit.

But how would you prove you car broke down or whatever, anyone could say that. I don't think the saver rates are refundable under any circumstances... insurance or not.

What would be the point of insurance then? there would be an obvious case of misselling, if they gave you an option to buy a policy you could never use.

To claim though, you need to provide proof of the event that prevented you from using the room: death certificate, medical certificate, AA/recovery note for you vehicle..etc. In ALL cases, that will be required.

Hi, anyone stayed in London at the London city road lodge? I says its noisy, is it that bad? Great if someone could advise.

    xx
We stayed there when it first opened for 2 nights and had a room at the front. We were next to the bus stop for the night buses, which we found really noisy. We'd only paid £9, so it was worth putting up with. Ask for a room at the back if you want it quieter.

Some good news, both email confirmations have dropped in my inbox in the last hour, was starting to think it had'nt gone through at 6am this morning - glasgow 1st night, then onto edinburgh the 2nd! never been to scotland so looking foward to it. £12 per night, bargain!
