  • Please don't be fooled into Fridays prices and adverts. The bottom line for me is that a phone based company ought to return phone calls, you would expect ? I have just lost a potential buyer because I could not get an answer to a query I had. Despite numerous phone calls to a Mr David Salmon, who customer services told me I needed to speak with, he just wouldn't return my calls. I have ditched the company and am now trying to get my money back from them due to a lack of service and the loss of a potential buyer.

    Hi,

Sadly, my research on Friday's did not include this forum. I've instructed them to carry out mp EPC. However, I did this with the discounted offer on conveyancing. Am I now tied in to using Friday's for my conveyancing on my sale?
i.e. can I now choose just to use them for the EPC and someone else for the conveyancing?

Up to this point I have only paid them for the EPC, and they have done no further work for me. Hoping I can back out now.

    many thanks
    Alex

    Hi There

You should be able to do this. Just pay for the EPC and quit while you can. They try and draw you into the conveyancing service by reducing the cost by the amount of the EPC cost. Don't get fooled by this - cut your losses now! You should easily be able to find an alternative conveyancer for the same or similar price.
    Good luck :T
  • I recently instructed Fridays to act for me and was more than happy with the quote, my lawyer is lovely so far, she has been honest and told me she will call me or email if she needs anything and in the meantime will email me copies of all correspondence, so far so good, let's hope it continues as it is only early days:-) I am extremely busy in work myself and don't intend to have to chase on a regular basis, which can be rather annoying, I suppose even for the lawyer. Let's hope I am not let down!

Recently decided to instruct Fridays to sell a property based on their fast response to the HIP service. But now I know that this is really a hook to try and get you into what is a really rubbish conveyancing service. Don't let the cheap quote fool you. Read carefully the terms and conditions for all the extra charges they will bill you for including trying to rip you off in delaying by one day the transfer of sale proceeds even though you pay a CHAPS fee for same day transfer. For two months absolutely nothing was done until I decided to chase for progress. Getting through is worse than a call centre. At the end of the day you will end up spending loads of time chasing and this will cost you in time and phone calls. Next time I will instruct a local solicitor - at least I can see who I am dealing with.

I have very recently instructed Fridays and at present I am pleased but I think you may be complaining unnecessarily, I have sold and purchased quite a lot of properties over the years and on the majority of occasions the buyers solicitors have either advised that they will not exchange contracts until the tenant moves out, therefore until the last minute a purchase with a tenant is not a priority, maybe the estate agent should have been pushing your purchaser too. I am a true believer of making the estate agent earn their fee!

My main concern about using them (and the reason I have now taken advantage of the 7 day cooling off period on services sold over the internet), is that the service they offer seems so inconsistent.

Looks like some people have had a wonderful experience with them. However if you get unlucky.......

With something so important I'm just not prepared to take that risk. I am happy to pay a bit more to reduce the risk of something going wrong.
  • Just to let you all know i have had a nightmare with these, been trying to buy my house for weeks & have sent countless e-mails,had countless conversations with one of their senior partners & have always been promised a call back(never had one)

lady dealing with us went on holiday,or sick & never even did out of office reply, we are about to cancel these & use a different solicitor to continue otherwise our purchase will collapse!! goin to contact council of licensed conveyencors to complain,, they may be cheap but just think you are investing in a major item & these guys will make you even more stressed..
  • please contact them,we had a lovely solicitor(irene) but have now hit a terrible patch & could lose the house purchase..

Ok as all others was influenced by the cheap HIP and yes they did a good speedy job on that. We are buying a new build and thanks to Fridays it looks like we have lost our house that we are due to move into in 2 days! Additional loss will be our 4K that we have put into the house for flooring etc. Fridays DO NOT answer your calls or the estate agent or financial advisors or buyers solicitors all of them have said they have kept a record or their crap service in case i want to claim compensation. Wish i had found this forum before using them we have had to call them about 6 times A DAY to get even the simpliest jobs completed the stress has been horrible Our solicitor left the company the day we were due to complete and had not completed any of the work that she claimed she had done Stay away from them.
