Hi Tirl - You sure know how to keep up the fitness pressure! Hope you enjoy it - sounds gruelling to me - but then before this week I didn't think I could do a 6 mile walk either...
I'm starting to actually enjoy exercising which feels weird - as the last time I exercised this much (if ever) I was in my late 20s early 30s!
Hope you have a better week. Have you had the blood test results back yet?Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hey Savingh. I need to see how I feel about it at the end of the week, but we're still going up to Yorkshire, leaving early afternoon on Thursday (as have already booked Friday off) so not a long week this week either and then only 3 days when we come back.
I'm glad you're enjoying your exercise. I generally think people just 'fall out' of exercising and feel it's too hard to get back though they'd probably enjoy it if they'd give a go again.
They said to call back for results early this week so was leaving it till tomorrow. Still not 100% now but well enough to be at work and can finally breathe through my nose again without too much obstruction. Now I just have to be really careful not to over do it as I've had it with colds and am not having one again this year (fingers crossed). Am planning to buy multivitamins with vit C and echinacea.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -
Hello all, I'm back!
Had a really nice time off. Left early on Thursday, took a train to Bristol to meet up with bf who'd taken the car as we were heading to Chester. On Friday we went to CheshireOaks and I finally got to spend my hard earned cash on some clothes!! We were bit pushed for time so only did half of the place, that took us about 3hrs. Bf was very helpful and also picked up clothes for me to try of which couple got the ok and I bought them. Got a knitted stone coloured long top which is really nice, boarder shorts that I need to do bit of work to get into, another long sleeved top, summer skirt and new Bradley's wallet that I've needed for a long time.
Then we headed to Yorkshire Dales. We were booked in a bunk barn which was almost middle of nowhere. We were the first to arrive and couldn't get in as the door code was on bf's email and it wouldn't let us get in without service so had to drive couple of miles down the road to get it.There was between 15-18 of us during the weekend, people popping in at different times to partake in different activities.
On Saturday it was an early up to get ready to do the 3 peaks. It was raining when we left but as the start was a few miles away, we thought better check what the weather was like there. 7 of us did the whole route, one of which was a 9 year old girl! It rained most of the way up Pen-Y-Ghent (694 m/2277 ft) which is the first peak. After the descent, there was a boggy patch and I manage to get my right leg in it up to my knee - twice! So bit of a squelchy foot from there on, but it was so windy that it eventually dried. It was a long flat drag, lot on the road, to the start of the next mountain, which was easy up and a nice if very windy ridge walk up on Whernside (736 m/2415 ft). My hips were bit achy at this point but otherwise the walking was easy. The descent from Whernside was steep and rocky and my knee started to ache a bit. After getting down, we stopped at a roadside 'cafe'. The last mountain, Ingleborough (723 m/2372 ft) had the steepest ascent, I was ready to stop and have a rest halfway through the steepest bit, but the 9yr old kept marching on and I thought if she can do it, I can do it. After the steep bit there was still uphill to go to the top, but we stopped there as the girl did get bit emotional and needed a rest. But she did it, and we all did it! 25miles alltogether. There was still some way to go to the end, about 6/7miles but it was all easy walking. We finished in 10hrs 45mins or so. I think without the youngster we could've done it slightly quicker, but not much this time.
In the evening and night, my knees and hips ached so much I could not sleep without taking ipuprofen. I was bit worried at first as it continued the next day, but by the evening it was fine and I think it was just the lenght of the walk and all the up and down it included. We did couple of shorter walks on both Sunday and Monday and I was fine. Monday's one included a bit of a scramble up a gorge. Was good fun.
Drove back to Chester and then back to N Wales to bf's mum after the walk on Monday. Then on Tuesday back home. Just chilled out last night allthough put couple of washes on was only back home about half 5.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -

Unfortunately not CMD. I've put the weight back on that I lost, so am 10st 3lbs atm which is almost a stone heavier than what I was only 6months ago!!!!:mad:
But, I have now decided to be very good till the end of the month to start off with. No chocolate, cakes, puddings etc. And bit more exercise cos I haven't actually been that good recently
Didn't really do much over the weekend either but did manage to do more tidying at home so it looks much nicer again. Also went to my first car boot sale this saturday. Wasn't looking for anything, just wanted to check it out. A lot of tat! On the way back, we stopped at this cheapy place and bought 5kg of tomatoes for £2!!! So made lots and lots of soup. My favourite soup now is Tomato borscht from Covent Garden Recipe book,it's delicious!!! Also made tomato, basil and mascarpone soup. There enough for a few weeks lunches I think.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -
Forgot to say, we also took lots of books and stuff to the charity shop on Sunday and came back with a small steaming pan that only cost £2! I'm not really a charity shop type of gal but I think I might go and have a look sometime what's on offer clothes wise.
Softball practise for me yesterday, was really nice. Bf finally got himself motivated and went climbing. When he came back, he was bit more like his usual self which was really nice.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -
Bit of a frustrating day. Took the day off as thought I would do half job hunting, half shopping as still have money left. Totally forgot that a) bf has set up the router so it goes to 'sleep' at day time during weekdays and you can only override it by pressing a button on the router. Doesn't sound complicated until you know where our router is set up. There's a little cupboard cut up into the top of the wall at the bottom of the stairs and the only way to it is from down below. My arms are still hurting from dragging my body weight up to it. We do have a hand railing on the opposite wall so it does help a bit but not a lot. Will try to put a pic up so you see what I'm talking about. Finally managed to do it but then b) not long ago bf changed the hard drive on the computer and hasn't quite got to sorting it all out. So, I could get my CV up but not edit it...and it needs some editing again.
And bf is having a works BBQ after work so will be home late,8/9pm.
However, I did go shopping. Went to a few shops and tried things on but nothing really grabbed me. My main destination was Monsoon as had seen some nice tops there and wanted to go and try them on to see if they'd fit me. Ended up buying lovely white knee length shorts (been looking for awhile) an a very thin knit black short sleeved v-necked top which I fell in love with as well. Neither were cheap but I had the money and can see wearing both of them lots so was happy to get them. £40 and £45 respectively. As I said, expensive but I deserved it!
Hope everyone's well.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -
What a weekend of two halves!
Saturday was lovely and sunny, gorgeous blue skies if a bit windy. Went to the beach and had fab time playing bvb with bf.
And on Sunday, well, it rained all day! It was so miserable. We had to go to gooutdoors to take my waterproof jacket back as the zip on the pocket started coming off. They're sending it back to the maker and hopefully they'll fix it quickly and send it back. Coming back I dropped bf off and headed for Ikea as wanted some napkins to make these http://www.dana-made-it.com/2008/07/tutorial-wallflowers.html. So that was me for the afternoon.Bf wasn't so impressed when I started hanging the flowers in our bedroom. Tough.
I also bought some glass jars so bf could use rest of the tomatoes we had (1.5kg) and make chutney, so that's all the tomatoes finally gone. Have my last soup with me for lunch too.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -
