The problem is, my landlord wants a calendar months notice. So if I want to move 1st of March, I'll need to hand in my notice end of this month! Don't think it's going to work like that though, probably for awhile, I need to pay two rents, which I can't really afford.
The problem is, my room is small, and there's limited number of people who want to live like that. How did I ever manage 3 years in there??? Beats me...
Could you give notice and then move into your boyfriends to bridge the gap. I know he isn't ready for you to move in but I'm sure he won't object to a couple of weeks. You have been together for a good while now haven't you?Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Back on. Works computer being funny about changing pages on internet.
The problem is more like, I give notice, landlord wants calendar month, but he means like whole of January (obviously missed now), February etc. Unless you find someone to take your room, you're paying for two places. And as my room's really small, can't see many being willing to take it.
Anyway, progress. Have been looking at flatshares etc, plenty around, unfortunately all the good ones in wrong areas, but willing to give them ago, so will need to ring about 4 places tonight. Already contacted one which I saw on our works intranet,it's a lodger one and the lady sounded quite pleasant. So many things to take into consideration, but I have to say, I'm getting excited! Should've done this a year ago!:):)

I paid extra £124 off Virgin CC last month. On last months statement it said that if I only paid the minimum, estimated interest was £36.38. Well, this months statement is not available online yet and hasn't come to my house, but even though all of the extra I paid, I'm sure they've still charged me that much of interest, well, about £35.09! Looking forward to getting that statement, am not happy at all.
Minimum payment for this month is £40.90. I must find some extra money to pay more off this month. I know I shouldn't really be using my Xmas money, but not happy with the interest at all...:(
Oh, and the reason I couldn't get online at the weekend...I'd managed to switch my wifi connection off...:o:o:oDEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -
Well, I wasn't far off with my calculation. This months interest is £35.90. I rang virgin and they said it'd go down a bit next statement, but that the interest would be between £30-£33 until it's all paid off. Obviously, it will go down after I've paid my s.loan and can concentrate on paying solely CC.
Have a viewing tomorrow as a lodger and have about 4 other places to call about. Talked to my landlord as well, but didn't hand in my notice yet. See what's out there first.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -

The interest is really annoying and frustrating but you got a good deal of 6.9% for the life of the balance.
Is there anyway you could hand in your notice and continue to look but if there is a shortfall of between when you move and you need to be out you could spend at your boyfriends? That would save you some rent and I'm sure he wouldn't mind having you for a couple of weeks.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

To be honest, I'm not sure...I spoke to him last night about it all and he didn't offer...I'm very, very close to having that conversation with him. I love him to bits, but I can't go on like this. It's supposed to snow this weekend though and I want to go and play in the snow with him, so maybe next week...:( But it's coming...DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0

Sorry to hear that. What about if you suggested it to him and see what he says? You could even suggest it by text so he doesn't feel awkward. Sometimes my OH is not great at thinking outside the box and when I mention things he is well up for it but just hasn't thought of it.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Unfortunately that's not the problem. I'm sure he might let me stay. I don't know if I want to. I did almost say it to him jokingly when we spoke yesterday. To me it feels it's coming to the end... I've not thought much else for couple of nights now. I don't know how I can salvage it and keep my self respect at the same time.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0

Oh you poor thing. It's not easy when you have to end a relationship. I was with a fella for a year and a half (before OH obviously) and I ended it even though I didn't want to. He wasn't putting in an effort to come and see me (long distance). I was madly in love with him but wasn't prepared to come 2nd best to his sport (which I did). I was devastated when I ended it but was proud of myself for having some self-respect to not come 2nd best.
Looking back it was the best thing I ever did as I love to travel and he has never left the town he was born in. Maybe for a 2 week holiday to Europe but nothing more adventurous than that!
I hope you make the decision that is right for yourself. Your boyfriend sounds very good to you in many ways but I can understand how you are frustrated that he won't take the next step with you.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
