Well, was nice to see my friends in London and Brighton. We meet up 2-3 times a year and it's nice to have kept in tought since '03! How the time flies...

Went for a walk on Valentine's Day which was really nice, weather was beautiful. Then bf cooked my favourite meal (by him) fish curry (peppered mackarel and prawns -it's so yummy!). I got a card but no flowers. He got a card, but no flowers ;). I usually by him one single red rose, but as I was away, and then we were on the walk when shops were open, there was no chance.

Pay day yesterday. Only makes me happy to see the money going in, and then next day, it's already gone...Must start looking for those jobs!!! Can't live like this. Supposedly 21 months to DF Day...

Hiya - glad you had a nice weekend and Valentines Day.

I got flowers and chocs but picked them out myself. Lol!!! Myself and OH are not really into Valentines. He made me a lovely meal but we would prefer to go away for a weekend later on in the year and celebrate it then :)

I find Valentine's Day bit difficult, cos it's really commercial but then it's nice to be 'remembered' as well. I was fine with a lovely home cooked meal and I'm off chocolates so there's not much more one can do. Half of me would just like to rebel against the whole Valentine's day idea, and this year, I didn't buy a card that was specifically valentines day-ie.

  • I'm not bothered about it one way or the other, some years I celebrate more than others. This year OH made a meal but we spent most of the day cleaning the flat - after a lovely brunch down in the pub.

Had a nice night last night as well. Went to the free Discover Music in Wales Millenium Centre. Second time. I like free/very cheap events. Feels like you still can go out and do stuff, but save the pennies at the same time.

Unfortunately there's two things coming up that I'd love to go to, but will probably afford only one, unless we decide to get not so good seats. There this cirque thing that looks amazing and then bf wanted to go and see To Kill A Mocking Bird in the theatre. Definitely won't afford good seats for both, but need to discuss.

Going to see my ex workmates tonight, so very busy social calendar atm, quite unusual, but very nice. Going for a cheap meal so shouldn't be spending much more than a tenner. After that I need to get some listing text ready for Friday as tomorrow will be seeing bf as he's off to see his parents at the weekend.

    Hey CMD.
It's going ok. Though atm I feel I'm not progressing. I'm sure it'll all come together though. I've only been there for a month.

    Progressing in what way?

I think more disposable income would change your life considerably as you seem to have a very tight budget, which you manage excellently. I would urge you again to try dooyoo. You could make about £20/30 a month easily and it would make a good dent in your debts. Could you take a bar job during the evenings on a short-term basis. When you pay off your debts will you have enough disposable income to save or will you still just be making ends meet?

oh, progress on getting my room as I want it. Mate said I could have her king size duvet, but don't know when she's gonna come down and I wasn't in a hurry to go up there again.

Yes, should do dooyoo, just don't seem to have the time, same problem with bar job. When DF, I'd have £400 extra a month, but obviously budget would stretch a bit...The more I think about it, the more I realise I seriously need a better paid job. Only recently I actually realised what my take home pay is after tax and NI and realised I can't live on that...just never thought about in larger scale, just month to month...
