Bought an xbox and not getting through to

I won an xbox for my son on 21st dec....seller stated that their paypal was not working [my fault I didn't realise until after auction finished}
seller emailed the invoice and i asked if they would supply with bank detals as I could arrange cash into bank so quicker despatch to us.
I've emailed a dozen times now, 1 reply apparently from the husband saying sorry just gtot into work wife has car and receipt for postage is in car and shes working.......i have had nothing since even though I keep emailing. I know it;s too soon to complain to ebay but i did request sellers details which i've had emailed to me.
Alarm bells are ringing
1) paypal not working
2) slow in replying to emails
3) seller requests i delete all bank details after giving them to me.
Where do I stand please, I will have 1 disappointed son !!

Do not pay directly into their bank. You will have lost your money if they do not post it (and to be honest, looks like they wont).
They need paypal working for you to have any sort of protection.
Why not look in the sales - at least you have some comeback if you have a problem. What if it arrives faulty?Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

Sellers have to accept paypal as buyers its the most secure way of buying. I wouldn't buy an xbox 360 from ebay as its been flooded with ones that have been blocked by microsoft from online gaming due to certain mods.

I had no clue it might have been tampered with and it was sold with genuine games, I have since bought new games and played happily - until last night when I was told as I logged in that my console was banned because I'd broken the terms of the agreement. How would I have known if the console had been tampered with? I've started dispute procedures against the seller via Ebay, as far as I'm concerned the console wasn't advertised correctly!
Do not pay by bank transfer you will be scammed and have no comeback0 -
Have you paid? If not don't.
If you have paid then I think you have lost your money and I would take screen grabs and copy details of every bit of info you have about the seller.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. i agree with most of the posts here a lot of banned xbox consoles have flooded ebay, i sold my banned console in the beginning of December.
I suspect you will receive the console (slowest/cheapest mail form probably) but you will find it is banned, (plug it to the net and try connecting to xbox live and an error message telling you this console has been banned will appear straightaway.) IF it is banned that will be why the seller asked for bank transfer so you can not report it to paypal and get your money bank, nor will your bank do anything either as you made a transfer.
You could involve the police and if you have all the sellers details they may help but i very much doubt it. Id suggesting printing the ebay ad out now though as a record.
What was the sellers feedback like??Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0 -
You've already paid though, haven't you.

Hi sorry for not replying sooner.
Yes I have paid
I asked for the sellers details via ebay so ended up with a telephone number. I was going to get my partner to ring but I have just had a reply saying that she didnt manage to get to the post office before christmas and has today.
I dont mind that she couldnt get to P.O I mean it was xmas, but not replying was what got to me.
According to the advert {am I allowed to post it?}
it is still in warranty, not banned, not chipped. Came with 2 games...they really wanted a Wii for a swap but I didnt.
I have all the details kept as I emailed through ebay so it keeps records on there.
I am keeping fingers crossed they are honest and not scammers. Their feedback was only 3 100% but I'd like to think that even though it is low they have to start somewhere.!!
Thanks for the replies.Can't think of anything funny to put here!

I'm still worried by this,new user, couldn't post in time, couldn't take paypal. I think you really need to hang around on here for a while if you are going to carry on using ebay, I don't think many others would have gone for this.
The next thing to do is ask them for the tracking number. If they went to the PO today then they must have it and as it will have gone special (due to the cost) you can track it online.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Yes, but they would say that, wouldn't they. Say the right things to get the best price, then accept a non-Paypal option and don't send the item. The buyers got no way of getting their money back, and the seller's got away with it.a_confused_mum wrote: »it is still in warranty, not banned, not chipped.
Also, no offence, but why were you buying an Xbox so close to Christmas, when a) it'll most likely not arrive in time, and b) prices are inflated by everyone looking for last minute Christmas presents?
You'd have been better off buying from Amazon. I don't know how much you paid, but you could have got a 360 Elite (the black one, with big hard drive), 4 games and an extra controller for less than £200 (clicky).Back on MSE after a 5 year hiatus.
