An NSD here, I'm happy to report. Hopefully I can now go until Tuesday until I spend again, but I do need toothpaste and a new toothbrush. Hoping Boots have an offer on so I can get the points there
Roast beef with roast potatoes, carrots, broccoli and green beans for tonight's tea. It's cooking at the moment with another half hour or so to go and is starting to smell lovely. Any beef left over will be taken to my Mum's on Tuesday to be minced! Then it'll be a cottage pie on Thursday night
That said, I don't really need very much on Tuesday. Unfortunately I've started to drink fizzy cola again this weekend and hope I don't continue the bad habit as it could get expensive again
Keep warm and safe, everyone

Earlier I had one of those it's-sunday-afternoon-want-something-stodgy moments. Luckily found this gem in Rosieben's listings on the first page - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=523656&postcount=135
I made the syrup sponge and halved the mixture as it was just for me, but there was enough for DD's boyfriend as well. It has really hit the spot and may become a cold weather favourite. So THANK YOU ROSIEBEN :T
I really appreciate the effort you must put in to drag all the recipes together (and so does Jamie who has cleared the bowl)
Today has been a NSD which makes 5 so far. Admittedly the snow has helped but I've still managed to spend money on non GC items
Still waiting to hear when my new fridge will arrive. Was supposed to be last Wednesday and still haven't got a definite delivery slot for this week. They'll "get back" to me
Oh well may get to stay home again tomorrow if the weatherman is right.
Take care all, K:xmastree:Merry Christmas0 -
Just finished catching up on the posts - and have though of a quick question. Does anyone know what I can make with a jar of cranberry jelly? I bought a jar for the Christmas turkey but still have about 3/4 left. It's been in the fridge but I think it will have to be used soon or might have to be binned! Any suggestions welcome!
Thanks

Thanks for the motivation, brought 8 onions and a 1 or2lb of carrots saturday and after reading your posts realised I really dont need anything else apart from advacado, 1 pepper and some sour cream for Tuesdays frajitas (for sons birthday) as he loves them and I have the rest in. One saving we have been doing for the last year is going back to buying a sack of potatoes, the ones here only cost 4.95. I am lucky with having two really good veg shops, one always has reduced stuff at bargin prices.
Also my local butcher is letting me pay this week for my meat and some cash back from last week that I tried to pay for and forgot my pin no:o. Not only is my butcher a lovely man but his meat is superb. My local deli come speciality foods shop is also great and lets me leave bags there if I have a lot of stuff to collect later even if I havnt shopped there that day:D
