I've updated the budget list, and I've put "30 something" in with the S's - mind couldn't cope with having a persons name start with a number!!!!
Thanks for adding me Helen, I am perfectly happy being with the other lovely 'S' people.:rotfl:
Spent another £8.63 of my budget yesterday. I bought:
I can't believe it's not butter light spread (500g) - 48p
Warburtons crumpets x 2 packs - £1 for 2
aspirin 16 pack - 16p
Tv guide - 49p
Go cat x 2 (950g boxes) - £3.50
Baking potatoes x 2 (2.5kg bags) - £2.00
Chocolate coins x 4 - £1.00
1 pack of the crumpets made a very tasty quick lunch yesterday, and the other pack has been frozen for use another time. The spread made them taste even nicer
The chocolate coins were a mistake - proof that I should leave my son at home when I go shopping in future :rotfl:. They were right next to the till and at the bargain price of 25p a bag, left over Christmas stock. Seemed like a good idea at the time, but will try and shop alone as much as possible this year.
Not quite ready to give up buying a tv guide yet, though in all honesty it only gets read on the day of purchase and hardly ever gets picked up at all the rest of the week, as we use the sky on-screen tv guide if looking for something to watch.
All in all a fairly cheap week grocery wise. Will be updating totals and doing meal plans for next week later.0 -

Hello:j
A further £24.81 spent here this week but we're well stocked with the essentials for the next few days and DH informed that he and the small person had stocked up on sausages from the oopsie fridge [whoopsie:D] Shouldn't need anything other than milk until the weekend so am pleased with how it's going so far.

I'm the same, i've been buying What's on TV for so many years now, it's just a habit. I read through any interesting bits and then only tend to look at it a couple of times during the week.
Was going to go for a long walk this morning, but it started snowing again and the pavements are like an ice rink, so had an early morning wander down to the seafront instead. Went out again earlier to get a bottle of milk - 86p, but have everything else I need.Grocery challenge - Nov: £52/£100

one good thing about the snow is that I still cant get my car out and so the shopping has to small enough for me and DH to carry. so that has kept us on the straight and narrow - so far
got 2 weeks worth of food to buy with £200 still in the pot :j:j0 -
I haven't had time to update recently. But I am doing well. The first week, I only spent €28 roughly, as I had a full card of savings stamps. And then this week, I spent €95 as I had a voucher for €20 off once I went over €100 (and I wanted to make sure I had plenty in with the weather as it was).
So while I did this week's shop last Thursday, I have enough for the entire week to next Sunday already.
This week's menu looks like:
Today - roast chicken
Tomorrow - Sweet'n'sour chicken (from leftovers)
Tues - Lasagne (in the process of making a double batch this afternoon)
Wed - Beef stew
Thurs - pasta bake (from freezer)
Fri - to be decided - but shouldn't be a takeaway this week
So I think I should be well on track for being under budget this week.....GC 2010 €6,000/ €5,897

So far this month We've done quite well,
We had a delivery from waitrose (had £10 off voucher), they left quite a bit of the shopping in the van so had a refund, but they refunded almost double the amount we'd paid for the missing items so the shopping only came to £19
Been to co-op a few times and got some reduced bits, and we had our veg box delivered last week so my total spend so far is £60.96,
Quite chuffed as I don't think we'll need to buy much else this month :TAddicted to MSE, I can't resist a bargain0
