  • in the process of creating the spreadsheet i was working through the receipt, they put through the longrain rice through as basmatti (twice the price). have rung the tesco number on the receipt and it says in the event of overcharging they will pay double the difference. will take my purchases back to tesco later with the receipt which shows 2 x basmati instead of one of each and ask for the refund. can go on foot so won't cost anything and will give me some excercise...

Updating with the weekend spend. Did a proper shop in Sainsbury's and went to Tesco for a couple of things that S didn't have in stock - glad we have both in town! Anyway, grand sum of £85.38 added to the total for the month. Bought several offers - Branston beans 50p a tin but 4 for 89p in Tesco, so had to get some of those, for example. Off now to sort out the mealplan for the week. Must keep to the budget this month!

    Hello everyone.

Still keeping budget under control:D Had to buy 3 bottles white vinegar for cleaning and 2 bottles of fabric softner on offer £3.23 spent. So sig. updated. I have a loaf just finishing in the bread maker and am considering whether to make some more Soup and a Beef Curry or Stew for tea tonight. I love my new pressure cooker so much and am enjoying experimenting with it. Hope everyone is keeping well and warm.

SunnyGirl You and your family are in my thoughts today ((()))

    Hi everyone :hello:

It's going to be a LSD today (I'm getting better, almost making it to a NSD ) as only need to buy DH's bread. Will update my sig after that little spending spree, then it looks like I've been good for longer!! :D

DH at a meeting this evening, so will spend some time going through the pantry and freezer and make up my meal plans. I'm hoping I will have enough meals for at least a couple of weeks! Am getting some great ideas from everyone on this thread and it's really keeping me motivated, so thanks!! :T

Have a good day, everyone and stay safe and warm. :snow_laug

  • Been to Morrisons this morning - spent £59.67 in total which is more than I wanted to however, £2 was saver stamps, £5.48 on things for my emergency box (flylady thread) £3.12 on Xmas bags and wraps and 98p for birthday gifts. So if I take all those things off it comes to less than £50 - is that cheating?

    Hi all

Just updating - about 1/3 of the way through the budget - so far so good.

Tried to book a T*sco shop on Saturday for Tuesday and couldn't get one until Wednesday which is a bit of a nuisance as a lot of their offers end on Tues and I would rather have had them delivered than trudge round the corner!
Nevermind - off to stock up on Mullerlites as I think their 5 for a £ offer ends tomorrow!
August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.
