Did the first big shop from Mr S yesterday and it came to just under £60 including delivery, managed to stock up on a lot of tins which we had run out of and also got potatoes and other heavy veggies so I can make a stew this weekend for the beginning of next week.
So far we are up to £100, but will be going to Costco next week (well, sending a list with my parents) so that will add onto the budget as I'll stock up on meat and toilet roll for the next two months.
We had a lovely dinner last night. Chicken drumsticks, potatoes, carrots and red onions all cooked in a big glass dish in the oven with peas and sweetcorn on the side. Very yummy and quite a treat as we've been having a lot of stews and mince dishes. It must have cost us at least £2.67 for the two of us, pushing the boat out quite a bit there!Grocery budget in 2023 £2279.18/£2700Grocery budget in 2022 £2304.76/£2400Grocery budget in 2021 £2107.86/£2200Grocery budget in 2020 £2193.02/£2160Saving for Christmas 2023 #15 £ 90/ £3650 -

So nice to have full fridge and pantry again!
Finally managed to get to Eastbourne and do the big shop (in 2 hours free while SIL took kids to soft play centre).
Did Lidl and tesco, Lidl first (even though that's less convenient) so I can get cheapest things as I know what Tesco have and how much most things are. So bargains in Lidl included
Shallots 29p (so much cheaper than Tesco)
Cabbage 29p (again so much cheaper)
Onions 44p and Red Onions 29p (bargain!)
Tins of beans and sausages 29p - with ring pulls! (A novelty on cheaper items)
Tinned spag hoops 19p with ring pulls!
Got a free range chicken for £7 and their 10% fat mince 500g £2.50, diced pork £2.50. British bacon £1.99
I love their meat it's all british and fresh, even a butcher recommended it to me as the best supermarket meat!
Spent total of £40 and pennies in Lidl
Tesco also £40 but £10 of that is cider for OH and £7 is nappies so not bad. Also bought 2 packs of the Heinz Chopped Tomatoes £1.79 for 4 tins, I know it's a bit more than the value ones but I do find the value ones can be rather watery and also these have ring pulls!
Worst thing was I lost my list somewhere between Lidl and Tesco so had to shop without it and now don't know if I got everything! Better write meal plan out properly now to make sure.
Total so far this month £228 out of £350 though will have to go and get loo roll from co-op when they get more in as the Tesco offer was no where near as cheap.June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Another £3.80 for me on milk. I have an Asda delivery due tomorrow, but that should cost very little due to a chain of mistakes on their part which started before Christmas, and led to some credit vouchers being put on my account.0

I tend to just copy and paste which can be a bit of a faff tbh, but you can hit the square button to the right of the 'Quote' button on all the posts you want to quote and then press 'Quote' - it should bring all the quotes up in one message for you to edit.
Maybe I'll try it myself next time

Hi everyone,
Just on to update my sig. Spent £19.49 today in MrS. Got veg for the next few days, so hopefully won't need to go again until Weds. My GC ends on Friday 21st (payday) so should be well under budget. Any spare will go towards paying off the Barclaycard.
Stay safe and warm everyone.

Just updated my sig to include veg buy on the market, plus sundries in home bargains.
50P each for large bag of courgettes and tomatoes, £1 for a large bag of Bananas.
I have put down £250 on here as a target, but decided to see if i can do it for £200- which i am well on target for. Probably just got to buy milk, bread and sack of potatoes at the end of the month plus veg and fruitBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

We have been shopping and stivking to my list religiously but my husband was adding things in we went to Mr T for coffee with 50% extra and peach water and oven chips spent 8.00.
Then on to Mr Morrisons stuck to list not as many bargains around and veg seems very expensive although weigh watches malted bread 2 for a pound and tastes nice. but cauli 1.30 seems outrageous spent 46.00 and on track with budget .I have updated signature just need to be careful next 2 weeks.
Will be looking at Mt Aldi and Lidl for bargains.
So far this month 131.00 out of 200 budget so happy about that.
Good luck everyone:TWeight loss challenge 66lb to go /59lb's lost
