Argh, I was hoping for an NSD today, but I spent £9.36 on enough cleaning products/washing tablets and offcut bacon to see me well into February.
Even if I go over budget, I don't mind because I'm being sensible and will use this stuff.
Tonight's tea was a very nice Thai style prawn dish (sweet and spicy) with noodles and I've now worked out the perfect portion size for the 2 of us - 1 and a half cakes of the Fine Egg Noodles is bang on.
Aiming for an NSD tomorrow now I've done that little bit of shopping. More of an update then!

Does anyone who has been to Morrisons in the last few days know if they still have the offers on the 30p vegetables? I can't see it on their website but they don't always seem to advertise it on there.Grocery challenge - Nov: £52/£100

Have only been in shops once since New Year so have had all the others as NSDs.....oh apart from the day I gave OH €7 for cat food, so that's 13 out of 15....soooooo pleased with myself. Will need to go out for a few items to-morrow and winged one might have a look in M&S, can maybe afford that Dine In offer X 6, especially if I can get OH to go halves as he will be the one to drink the wine! Haven't tried that offer before as the M&S in Naas is a small food only one and not normally an economical place to shop...

Hi loopychriss, the toilet rolls were originally £6,00 in our co*p, wonder if it varies from place to place. A great purchase though at £2.50 I think the offer is still on until the 19th.
I had to buy FF & V today, so had a little shop in MrL, they had Paraz*ne on offer for 43p, I needed eggs, bread flour and milk as well so around £15 spent sig. updated.
Homemade stir fry prawns tonight with noodles -yummy and I made some cheesy straws for DH and me to munch on while watching tv...........very naughty:D
Have a good evening everyone!
PS I have to confess I had to throw away an Avocado today which I had forgotton about!! I hate wasting things but there was no useful purpose for it. The only other thing I've had to throw since Xmas was half a bowl of nibbles which the dog licked YUK!!!Sealed Pot Challenge 7 Member 022 :staradmin:staradmin:staradmin

Having read the posts from last night and today though I am tempted to head out to Mr S to see what whoopsies they have. I've just bought a new chest freezer which is only half full so have plenty of room for storage but there isn't anything we really need as meals are planned through to next Tuesday. Decisions, decisions.....what shall I do?
I didn't go to Mr S last night decided I had enough in and there will be other whoopsies to be had, so stuck to NSD. Also had another one today! I know it will get harder not to spend as the stocks run low but hoping to try and stick to only spending on a couple of days each week for food. That way I figure I can look for bargains but keep the necessary spends to a minimum. Just needs a bit more planning
I don't need to go to shops tomorrow but as Mum is coming round may nip out while she stays with DS - saves me shopping on Sunday with him.
Glad to see snow and ice are melting as it has made it much easier to get to work the last couple of days. Hope it's melting where you are.
Keep warm, Kitty:xmastree:Merry Christmas0 -
Doing really well on the grocery challenge so far- not sure feb will be as easy but there you are! Havent been buying much but went into M&S to buy the meat on the 3 for 10er meat deal which is fantastic.
Small beef brisket
2x meatballs
1 small oakham chicken
1x chicken breast roast
1x pork belly soy & ginger roasting piece &
1x pork slow roast with black pepper.
£10 for 3- so i spent 20.00 on this but had a gift card that paid for it.
So tongiht we are having the meatballs with rice and spicy mexican sauce as albodingas or la frontera depending what country we are pretending we are in:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

Yep,
the co op offers must vary, here they were £5.00 reduced to £2.50. Bit of a cheek really, nearly as bad as fuel prices being different areas.

Spent £16.41 today. Friut & some HH things. Was naughty & got the kids a pizza so that bumped it up. Not as much as home delivery pizzas though!
Sig is updated!

Bought a few bits this morning and the A*da delivery arrived this afternoon only a bit late!
So £88.57 in total today but I've got a lot of stuff in and am sticking to my plan. Need to curb the spending a bit until the last week of the month when it is DD2's birthday and I want to get cakes/birthday food etc out of this budget. Should be OK - I really want to come in under budget this month so I can trim it down and push myself a bit next month - time will tell!August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.0 -
Still didn't get to do big shop yesterday, FIL didn't fix my tyre until 3pm and by then I decided it was too late. Had to go to co-op as we were out of loo roll and nappies, had hoped to get the £2.50 stuff but they'd run out so got value for 44p! Actually isn't that bad, nice than most value...
Had to get Pampers nappies as they didn't have pull ups I wanted and I HATE pampers, only a small pack but cost £3.99 so I'll have to use them, even though DS2 prefers pull ups...
Also bought lots of stuff I didn't go out for so spent £17! But that did include chocolate and sweets for me, ham for OH's lunches next week, some whoopsied rolls that I shoved in the freezer, a bottle of cider for OH and some milk.
Going to do the big shop today but plan to go to Lidl first as we need coffee and choc spread and I their veg is usually cheaper. I usually end up spending more when I do it like this so will try to be restrained.June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500
