Got a lift to tescos tonight :) Spent £20.53. Like usually I don't seem to have brought enough to last the week! My usual problem is that I can't find inspiration about things to buy, well apart from chocolate! I do try and make a list before I go, but even then I can't find inspiration and just add the usual things to it. I'm going to have to start reading more cookery books, maybe that will help.

Had a day in town and looked in at the sales. Bought one dress (for SIL's graduation) at less than half price - so pleased with that. DH was with me and spent £12 on books - in a shop where everything was £2! (He carried them round the shops though). We ended up in M&S where we bought the dine for £10 deal, so am about to tuck into lasagne, italian style veg, pannacotta and wine! Have decide to be good and count all the food spends today in the grocery budget rather than the leisure budget, so have included the sandwiches and coffee we had out today. Signature updated. I know we have spent a lot today - but we have to have some treats and I am am still on course to come in on budget.

Thanks Helen for keeping us up to date and for all your work maintaining the lists.

    Have a nice evening everyone.

Evenin' all, I've been MIA lately, sorry! Just finally got round to finishing my spreadsheet for Dec challenge, and I'm very happy to report that I remain 30p in credit!

Please could you put me down for £250 for January and very sorry to have left it this long.

Happy New Year to everyone, hope you're ready for another year of mad moneysaving (at least in the Groceries dept.)

Went out with my brother today and did a bit of shopping. Spent £2.98 in the health food shop on crackers as they BOGOF and I love them :) Spent £2.77 in Asda on tinned tomatoes, beans and some sweets and £2.03 in Morrisons on bananas, onions and apples. We went to KFC for lunch (well at 4:30pm) so won't be having dinner tonight as not hungry at all. I haven't included this in my total (£3.99) but could do as think i'll be well under my target this month :D

Still need to get some veg and I see the toilet rolls are now on offer at Coop so may pop down tomorrow and pick some up as when I checked last week, they were still around £6.

Whizzed down to coop this morning and bought 3 lots of loo rolls on special offer. I couldn't find the dishwasher tablets so I don't think they're doing that offer in ours. Also got half price chicken, cheese, pork pies and crisps and total came to just over £20. It's a bit odd that our budget's still looking good. Shouldn't need to do a big shop until the end of the week and I'll probably do it online to save time and petrol.

Went to work at MrW supermarket this afternoon and it was really busy! Only two weeks left on the contract so trying to squeeze some extra hours in in case we're not kept on. Saw a few bargains in the staff shopping area then realised I didn't take my purse with me!

Spent £84.84 today. Not much left for the rest of the month but after a good shop today we shouldn't need much
