    Hi all,

Not been able to catch up with everything sorry!! Have gone over budget :(, got carried away with lots of whoopsies in Asda (don't get there much as there isn't one neraby) but have quite a lot of meat in the freezer and have set a yearly budget so hopefully will even out through the year! Just have to be extra careful for rest of month....

Husband spent £5.36 on beer, lemonade and sweets. Off to update signature.
  • Evening all,

popped to Mr A tonight for loo rolls and bread (and wine:o)

    I got:

loo rolls value £1.32 (jumped up in price!)
    wheat bix 75p
    wine £3.38
    3 x packs white rolls whoopsied 54p
2 x warbies white unsliced tiger loaves whoopsied 20p
2 x bags of cox apples whoopsied 20p
    2 x packs ibuprofen 60p

That should be right so..£6.99 altogether.

Got eggs yesterday from the little farm shop but just used change out of my purse not my GC account so not counting it.

Can see the back of my freezers now cos im using them up last couple of months cos so poor at moment, well i'll have fun hunting down whoopsies to fill them up again!

Im really pleased how we are doing although its a shame it has to be out of such necessity. I have been assured by my new manager I will be paid this month but im not convinced as i didnt start till 4th jan and its pay day on 26th so cant see me getting anything this month but am really hoping and praying else we will have a £0 GC for Feb!

Freezers are still well filled up though and can easily get through another month i reckon with stretching as have a lot of meat and fish in there, storecupboard got a fair bit left too so we wont starve.

So thats that for today, nsd planned tommorow and monday as working till 3pm tommorow and long day Monday so no time to shop, plenty of bread and milk in so should be fine and all meal planned.

    Night all

need to be really careful from now on as paying for meals out next weekend within the challenge.

:money:just used martin's guide to reducing utility bills - predicted £300 saving in next 12 months on eon tariff, plus clubcard points - only changed last about 18 months ago but seeing martin on tv saying if you haven't changed in 12 months you should look into it. i listened, spent 3 minutes tops typing and now i have a warm happy feeling - thanks martin :money::beer:

Helenjelly - I agree totally with rosieben. Much appreciated.

I think I am on track this month - I keep doing bulk buys though which impact on my figures though. Although my spend is high I have dog and cat food to last through most of February for example, enough loo roll to sink a small battleship and household stuff to last for a three months so I am happy. DH working from home because of the weather, and SS moving in have presented some challenges but we seem to be managing. I urgently need some PG Tips though, our co-op didnt have the offer ones .

Keeping out of big supermarkets has helped a lot. I am going to stick to the one big home deliver monthly and then farm shop/Lidl the rest of the time. Getting better at food planning as well.

I tend to just copy and paste which can be a bit of a faff tbh, but you can hit the square button to the right of the 'Quote' button on all the posts you want to quote and then press 'Quote' - it should bring all the quotes up in one message for you to edit.

Maybe I'll try it myself next time :D

Heard on ther raiod caulis could be up to £2.00 n some places due to the frozen ground and difficulty in picking.

I paid £1.49 for a tiny cauli in MrS today - the cashier first put it through as white cabbage at however much per kg, and like the muppet I am I pointed out that it was a cauliflower. Could have paid 48p ....
