The stall was there again today and I just had to buy two more pieces of lovely fabric. Will use them to make myself another two tops me thinks.

Part of me wishes there was a good fabric source around here, and another of me is quite glad that there is not or I would have even more fabrics to tempt me.! Its bad enough with all the lovely things I buy in the charity shops for this or that project!.
Right I have been experimenting with the centre parts of a mans shirt to make something to hang my bags on for display. I will let you know how it works out.
Sewn a few buttons onto the odds and ends while waiting for the fridge man to come.
The zips arrived this morning. But alas up against the fabric they look more like royal blue then deep purple. I think I will have to see about trying to buy some others, maybe go for the lilac in the end as that may be more toning, then matching perhaps. Thats the downside of buying on the internet.

Oh my, I was just meandering around the interweb and decided to see how much my blind would cost if I had bought it from Laura Ashley made to measure. £190.89 ! That's mad ! The fabric only cost me 50p from the charity shop and I already had the lining fabric (which as we all know is always in the remnants bin at dunelm!). I spent £6 ish on cord and toggle bits but would have to buy the cleat whether made to measure or not.
Blimey, saves a bit of money this bin rummaging home making stuff doesn't it :D

definately does ive made 6 so far for our new house i dread to think how they would have cost if i had to have them made.

managed to make a purse and a wallet last night. But not much else as I was too tired.
DGD is in Nursery this morning. So I am going to go and see what I can sew this morning. I will have to be more careful, as I hurt my arm a bit yesterday. Dont want to undo all the good works of the spa weekend!

Just wanted to pop back and say I did make my blackout linings sideways, with the width acting as the drop and they've worked a treat!!!

All I did was cut it to size and stitch on some lining tape, they don't need hemming as they don't fray and no-one can see the lining anyway!

I hung them yesterday on one window as a test and they are more successful than I imagined, although there is light coming in at the top, which just means I need to change where I have the hooks attached I think.

    Anyway, thanks for the advice!!!

Glad they turned out well Emz xx

My zips came today, very pleased with them, just what I wanted. I have done a bit of sewing this morning but no where near as much as I wanted to do. Oh has gone back up to bed now as on dreaded nights again for two days so stuck downstairs with none to do. I was hoping the next quilt would be ready to start the hand quilting but I measured it up this morning and it needs two side borders on it to make it a bit wider. It is plenty long enough, just too narrow. I might be able to get a bit done later on when he goes off to work if I am not too tired by then.

I sew a lot. my favorite source for fabrics is a hop in Colchester, Essex called Fabric8. used to be called the remnant shop. they still sell remnants ;)

my latest project was a dress for my minime. it was an £8 remnant of silky polyester, used a pattern bought in last year's butterick sale and once I'd foinished it I realised it was way too big for minime, so I took it in at the back, moved the straps and when she grows I can take it out again ;)

I hate fitting zips, but this one wasn't too bad. I've got so much of the fabric left over, even after using some of it to line a bag made for my daughter's friend's birthday!

as a new member though I'm not allowed to post links :(

but find me on craftster, I'm mrsflibble ;)

Can you not use your link on the Homepage? That may be a way to show your makes?

I have spent the day sewing, and made 4 purses, 2 wallets and a bag all together.
I showed Molly my hanging strap made out of the shirt centres. She thought it was a great Idea.
I am off to Oxford this evening, So I am not sure I will get the pictures on the internet before I go.:(
