Enjoy your new book Rummer when you get into it and read it everything is really well explained and easy to get the hang of I relied on it completely to design and make my own bag for the first time. You will also be very poor soon, hide all the money or you will lose it sewing :P

Mooloo just being curious really, do you use the same colour thread for all of them? (can imagine for instance a creamy colour would be ok for most pastel colours). Production line definitely sounds like a good idea.
I'm feeling chuffed with myself as after making a top that was actually wearable, I've now completed a whole dress (from a top pattern). It's not particularly material I'd have chosen but it was only 50p from a car boot sale, and I did get a pretty sewing box from the same lady for £2 so more or less nil cost:T
Reading this thread for ages has given me just the confidence I needed, seeing all the lovely things you all make, kept telling myself I'm not stupid and 'anyone' can do it:).
Also had what I think may be a good idea for something simple that could be sold, so will try it out and mull it over.
Oh, and made a toy for our dog using the leg from an old pair of jeans (first try with a heavy-duty needle). It's exactly what she'd have ordered and she's thrilled to bits with it:)
Yes I have used the same thread on the ones I have made. I deliberately cut out bags that I could use the White as the main thread. Then I went on to doing some with Purples, and then some with reds.
The whites are the ones that have all been sewn together, with the linings of those with lighter linings.
The reds will be the next ones, as thats the one I have the zips for as well.
The purples will have to wait until I can get the purple zips. Although If I have other things to make inbetween it may change.

Tonight I have been adulterating one of BF's shirts into a dress for me. I came across a Tutorial actually looking at a stored one for Jeans bags, and this one was a link at the bottom of the page. It just grabbed my attention, and I thought for a change from bags I would have a go.
But I must have been getting tired, as when I went to attach the collar, I have gone and done it the wrong way around. And as the fabric that i chose to tone with the shirt is one that is fraying like heck, its not going to be finished tonight.
Time to close down the machines, and get some sleep.
I will get the camera out tomorrow and take piccys of the bags done earlier. See if I can get them on the blog. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
pinkpig, it has the same stitches as mine but I like that it has a window with the stitch number showing up through the clear bit. Mine doesn't have 21 positions on the dial it has 2 (maybe 3?) sets of stitches for each dial position and then the tension control and stitch length change the stitches too.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0

Could one of you lovely ladys help with a problem I have wth my machine?
I brought a JMB Overlocker yesterday and I have nearly finished my first project when It has completely jammed up the foot wont lift and the needles are down their is no material their so not stuck on the material and the needles are sharpe/unbent. I have looked through the manual but I cant find this problem.
Any Ideas?
I had this problem with mine, and it was two simple things, one was my needle was the wrong one for the overlocker, secondly I never realised you have to thread the overlocker in order ever since this I always thread it according to the numbers and never had any problems "touch wood"

Hi Florenceemyou have to put your pic's on photobucket or flicker then you right click on it, copy the URL code then come back to this thread and click on the square pic at the top with the mountain and stamp. You then paste the code into the box and ok it and the pic will be posted here
I hope this is clear for you
I use photobucket and resize my pic's to medium so they don't end up too big here
