well my arm and hand have been aching all day after me working in the garden yesterday. so my own fault, well dh really he wanted help with his building work!

been out today had my nails done managed to pick up a small fish tank for my dd from freecycle so thats my jon tomorrow afternoon whilst shes at a party, cleaning it to be ready for some little fish.

rested my arm a little tonight but had to make this bag for her i managed to cut it out last night before bed so she wanted to see it made up.

    anyway here it is

its a simple shape similar to the one we saw in next a week or so ago, but this is my own i drew it and made a pattern for it.

its for dancing for her to keep her shoes in, i have used a pale pink soft suede for the back and plain pink cotton for the lining.

I know what you mean. I bought a magazine today and there was instructions for a fold-out box thing and I totally couldn't understand it ;)

hmo, that is a fantastic bag. I bet you and your daughter are very pleased.
nykied, that was the bag that came to my mind when you said you were after ties. I like that bag. I actually looked in our local charity shop for ties but they wanted around £2 a piece. Too expensive for a bag even if it was going to be a fabulous one!
Tiami, I love DD's hair :) she was getting a complex because she's just had it cut shorter than normal and some of her class mates said she was going ginger. I thought "I'm not having that!" so I bought a wash in wash out dye for her and put a hint of Auburn in it. It's not really taken but she's got some real lovely red bits through her hair. That in combination with her blonde streak at the front looks very cool and she's got over her complex about ginger bits. You have to embrace the redhead within you :D.

WElcome to the thread freudian. Look forward to seeing your pencil case. Zips arent difficult, they just look more difficult than they are. Are you making a lined one? If yes have a look at this if your zip isnt long enough

    http://flossieteacakes.blogspot.com/2009/05/lined-zippered-pouch-make-up-bag.html

or this if your zip is same size or longer than your fabric (this is the one I learned from)

    http://www.twelve22.org/2006/07/zipper_tutorial.html

you basically just need to make a sandwich with your material. Just thinking that if you use a magnetic snap or button fastening all the stuff in the pencil case might fall out the ends! :)

Sun is out so need to attack garden first. Feeling much better guys, it must be all the good luck wishes! (and the medication going back up!).
Sat unpicking the bows off of undies that dont fit me! Just incase they come in handy. One way to justify sitting infront of the TV!
