I like those aprons Claire, good bargain with the fabrics too.

I have had a good few days sewing, got a lot of bits finished off that were laying about.

I had done all the blocks now for my Dad's quilt and yesterday I managed to get them all sewn together and then tacked the top middle and bottom of his quilt together. Even got a bit of th hand quilting done in the evening so its coming along nicely.

I also managed to get the squares ready for my last denim quilt. Has taken me ages to get to it as kept putting it off with other stuff to do but finally got them out over the last couple of days and they are pinned together ready to sew into strips.

I have got the fronts of my cushions sewn up too and have embroidered the sayings for the backs so they can be assembled now, I have the zips and everything so hopefully can make a go at them today or over the weekend too.

Is quilting easy to do? I will soon have a few bits of spare fabric.

I finished one skirt yesterday hoping to finish the others today and get on with making my hanging fabric baskets.

have a good day everyone. I have to go and get my mobile phone back, while DGD is with her Mum and Aunty for a little bit this morning, then get ready to go to oxford, we have a party to go to! So not much chance of sewing today, or tomorrow. Oh well, happy sewing all.
Hart, the adverage CK fabric is £18 to £22 a metre, so your costs/sales need to really take that in mind, incase you have to make more, and end up paying the full price for the fabric!!!
Hope that the hand heels well.
Re buying fabric, you should see my room now!!! oops there is fabric galour. The post man must hate me, as there is a parcel most days! I have tried not to buy anything else this week! Lets hope while in Banbury I am not tempted!

I find it easy to do Claire, I went to evening classes at first to learn but reckon if I had had a good book or looked online I could have done it myself. Was nice being part of the group though, only four lessons but we did a lot and I still go into the shop at least once a month to stock up on fabrics. I have made about 15 or 16 quilts since I did my course and it was about 18 months ago. It is very addictive as you can use up the tiniest bits of fabric. I save everything now, have baskets with different size scraps in. All gets used up eventually although I keep adding all the time too.

Well done Hart, looks a fab book, I am always looking out in my CS's but never found anything as nice as this one. The room in the pic looks lovely. Hope you're feeling better soon xx

Have sewed the strips together for the denim quilt but came down to watch the tennis so hoping to get a bit more done on my cushions this afternoon if I can be bothered today.

I have been naughty and bought even more fabrics today!
I found the fabric shop in Banbury! Bought some patchwork fabric, that will look great as a stick bag, and other bags too I suppose, but only bought a metre as it was £12.95 a metre
Then in the charity shop bought two other pieces of fabrics, dress weights, one was £3 the other £4, they charge £1 a metre! There was a lot of fabric I could have decided to buy, but luckily the shop only takes cash, so I couldnt go mad!.

Still feel unwell, its going to be a bit of a damp squid on my first night out in a long long time! Valentines I think we managed to go out I think?
We have a babysitter for the first time, in Oxford and are going to a 50th birthday, I bought a Coast Dress in the Charity shops, for £10!!!! Amazing. So I have a "new" dress to wear as well.
Time for a little rest, if I can before we pack.
