hello everyone, i've had that stinking cold thats been going around. so it's been a weekend of sex&the city and hand sewing a cushion cover + some cross stitch. lurgy-fuelled bliss.Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Frugal Living Challenger. No buying cleaning products. I used MSE advice to reduce my car insurance from 550 to 325!! & paid it off in full!!!0

Miss Candy suits her well. I've yet to try a sock monkey, have saved a tutorial so will have a go sometime.
I don't usually think about Christmas this early but last year I really got back into sewing little things and ended up making loads of Christmas stockings, hanging decorations and advent calendars. I gave them all out to family and friends. A year on there have been three babies born to girls at work and a very special little grand daughter (mine!) so more stockings to make.
This time I am writing down the 'how to' as a year on I have forgotten quite what order the steps go in0 -
Well I have been away on holiday.Sorry guys but I really dont think I have the time to re read, admire, follow links etc etc. Or I will be here till next christmas.
I have been nominated by the council for a house, so I think I will hve to pack up the sewing for a while, and start decluttering the cottage! Just as I had bought lots of stuff, was donated and acquired loads of fabric remenants, and clothes for working on! Typical.
Time scale is not immediate, and may not be definite, but the fact that I am at the top of the waiting list after 5 years, means I better prune the personal affects rather then make more! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Morning
Spent yesterday making a few bits and pieces as Christmas pressies for females. But I have a problem! I really can't come up with anything for the men in the family. As I'm going for a home made Crimbo, I'm anxious to make some male pressies - anyone have any suggestions please?Jack of all trades ... Master of none

Typed up a reply and lost it! Here goes again -
What about tool rolls, based on the same idea as the crayon or knitting needle rolls, except all tough and manly of course. They could be used for a set of screwdrivers, allen keys or spanners. I'm quite into DIY myself and the plastic packs eg allen keys come in usually become brittle and disintegrate before too long.
A tool belt is another possible? You would need some heavy canvas material and it might be tough on your machine though.0
