Pootle, I love your bag. What pattern did you use?

    Thanks Georgiabay,

I used the pattern from here and just adapted it a bit as it wasnt exactly the size I wanted and I didnt want to use a co-ordinating fabric or fleece.

I couldnt post a piccie yesterday as the image insertion thing wasnt working so here it is now.

jcr, your pillows are lovely and cuddles your little wiggly bags are lovely too. I must get round to making some. Danemi, love your card - you are very talented!! x

LJM, not sure if this or this is of any use for your seat pads. You could use the basics from here and just adapt to whatever you need.

did you make this hun - it looks gorgeous - was it ahrd to do if so?

I did make it danemi :D I made two :D they are so easy. I used a pillowcase for both.
I unpicked them then (after wahing and ironing) put right sides together the sewed the shorter side then put a hem on one end and turned the top end (leaving a gap) then threaded some elastic, after measuring DGD's waist, through this bit then it was done :D
The second one I added a cream ribbon bow on the side.
    My DGD loves them :D
Pics are on my homepage if you want to have a look :D

Pootle, I love the fabric you have brought and your bag is beautiful :T

jcr, I love your cushion, Im addicted to patchwork too :rotfl: I get nice duvet covers and sheets from the CS and cut into squares for my quilts and covers. Sometimes I buy ready cut ones from a great seller on ebay :)
Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a time :) and Love sewing :)

hmmmm now that looks interesting - could do with a new peg bag - but i have so many pegs would need to increase size a bit maybe - wonder if further down Vicki has included a tut - guess who is working her way through the earlier part of this thread - btw loved that dress you made hun

I made a peg bag out of an old pillowcase. I made a little hole in the top of the fold-over part of the pillowcase so that the coathanger could go through, then I buttonhole stitched the hole so it didn't fray, then I made a slit part of the way down the pillowcase and bound it with bias binding. I put the slit on mine too far down and I have loads of pegs which are always threatening to spill out! When I have another pillowcase I no longer need I'm going to make myself another one.

I usually cut my sqaures in between tea and going to work (usually only 1hr) I tend to stick to two colours at the moment as Im not sure of putting too many colours together but I have fun going through all my fabric and have sorted 4 colours that look good for my next quilt (after kitchen is done :rotfl:) My OH has just brought me a great cutter its a Dafa A4 rotary paper card and fabric cutter

Bit pricey imo but he paid so not complaining :rotfl: I will be able to cut quicker :) I have 2 acrilic square templates (4in & 5in) I used with my rotary cutter

  • Quick question please.

When a pattern says to use fleece, can you use wadding instead (I have 2oz stuff)?
Im doing (yet another) bag and it says to use fuseable fleece but I was going to just sew in some wadding instead. Not sure if there is a huge difference.......

p.s Danemi, did you get my PM ok? x
