Hart thank you for the link that's perfect.
Dizzy - your makes are amazing, I love them! I'm not sure I'm good enough to attempt those types of bags though did you follow a tutorial for them, I love the crayon rolls, will be making some of them.
I've just put my first ever bag on my blog!

I think that the pressure of trying to stock a stall has got to me. Everything I have made over the last week has been a disaster, and turned out to be only fit for the bin!
The only successful thing I did was a childs apron!
I think I need some other ideas to try before I go totally mad!.

I realy need to make some crayon rolls (I keep saying that :rotfl: must do it :rotfl:)

The girl's at work have told me to get making things as they are having another craft stall in November and they think my patchwork cushion covers and quilts will be brill to sell :o I would like to add some other bits too and as its a kids play center the crayon rolls might go well (I hope :rotfl:)

This is the chiffon dress that my daughter (and me) made. She got the basic shape using the dress form that we made and I sewed a zip in for her. She then got strips of the fabric which she neatened then wrapped round and sewed them onto the base at the zip so that they sort of drape.

That dress is fab Georgia. Your daughter has a lovely figure too.

I'd love to make a crayon roll but the pressure of getting all the lines straight and spaced just right would be too much for me. Maybe I'll do one for when Dylan starts school and a matching bag. Got 2 years to practice then!

Hart, litte aprons and oven gloves might go down well too, and bunting would be quick and easy and great for kiddies bedrooms.

    Thanks guys:)

Craftgirl the crayon rolls are so simple and take no time at all. It is easy to measure the spaces i just use a metal ruler and hold it an inch away from the last line of stictching (saves having to make out each line). They are quite forgiving as you can get away with the odd wonky line so don't worry. I made the drawstring bags up as i went a long but it was dead simple really. The red bag is the ric rac one hour bag which there is a link to the tutorial on my blog. when i get a minute i'll do a simple tutorial of the drawstring bag and pop it on my blog. i'm off to see your blog:D

Hart i bet crayon rolls would go down well and the drawstring bags probably would too.

Georgiabay that dress is beautiful well done to you and your daughter - she obviously takes after you!!

  • Georgia oh my word that is gorgeous!

My little one is tucked up in bed so the sewing machine is out again that will be 2 days running!!

Dizzy thanks for the info, I'm going to attempt the ric-rac bag!

I need to find some nice material for the crayon rolls. Oh a tutorial on the drawstring bag would be great, I saw your tutorial for the beach bag to so thoughtful of you to do it!

Now I guess I need to find the cheapest place for my material?!
