I don't I'm afraid Shaz, that was just my inspiration to use old housewares for clothes!I'm usinf a Butterick pattern for a plain A-line skirt. If you Google 'wrap skirt pattern' a few tutorials pop up

Well, it seems we'll be having the 1st Sewing Room Fabric Swap soon then!
I'll pitch in first, can you guess what it might be (?!), and offer a pile of 2.5" cotton squares, rotary cut, non-smoker household - in return for a pile of 2.5" cotton squares!! :rotfl: Yes, you've guessed it, from and for my hexie quilt! I wouldn't have mentioned it but some others here are talking about doing a quilt of some kind so if they'd be useful, let me know. (i can usually get 25 in a DL envelope on a normal 1st class stamp within the UK.)
For fabric lengths ect, perhaps people could post what they'd like to swap, then who ever is interested could copy that message and post their offer in a reply?
DizzyTina - can you point me to 'crafy helens'? i'm always up for swapsies!
update: i thought i'd see how much space just under 150 hexies covered, and i'm rather pleased. though i didnt realise i had that much blue in my scrap basket!Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. There are some free downloadable patterns for bags and a couple of items of clothing on www.fabric.com .
I spend quite a bit of time drooling over the cotton fabrics and the prices.
I have placed orders with this company and had them delivered to a family member in the US and their service is wonderful.0 -

23rdSpiral the fabric swap crafty helen had on her blog is now closed i'm afraid. What happened was that you put your name forward and then you were paired with someone else who had put their name forward and you had to send 5 surprise sewing/fabric items to that person (a fat quarter, small jar of buttons, ribbons etc). If you look on my blog in one of the posts it shows you what i received
Maybe the best way for us to do it would be to set up a fabric swap thread with a list on the thread of people who want to join in and then i will compile/ keeping updating the list, put on rules and set up swapping partners after a certain date and we can then PM our addresses with who we are partnered with. Everyone let me know what they think? i don't mind organising it if there are enough people up for it (though i may live to regret it!!!:D) x xV 12500 B 8300 N 1900 Oct £51/£1550 -
I'd certainly be interested in a fabric swap shop, but would need a bit of guidance on what would constitute an 'item' - wouldn't want to send a paltry half metre of ribbon say, and receive, say, a lovely pot of 50 vintage buttons in return!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0

Hi Guys,
I have been shopping today for craft materials.
Included in my purchases was a bundle of fabric for 50p, a bit of a mis matched bunch, but a bargain all the same!
I have updated my blog with all the details and with pictures too.
I would be happy to join a fabric swap!
Cheers
