Dinah the dress is fabulous, which pattern did you use plese? I also love the bodice of it. :)

I used McCall's pattern M5700, there's a piccie of it on my blog which shows the other pattern in the packet too.

Just discovered the jersey dress I want to make is pattern free - is it odd I'm more scared of it now than if I had a pattern to follow?!

Cuddles ~ loving the new bags, I love the brown buttons on the second one, really unusual.

I am getting lazy about posting pics here as I have them on my blog already, but my favourite bit about this thread, apart from the wonderful helpful people is looking at the photos of peoples things, so it's on the blog but here too.

I finally got round to making something from a cotton Boden Kaftan I bought last week at the charity shop, this is what is was:

and this is what it is now:

This was so easy to make if you have a bit of spare material and about 1 hour ~ have a look here.

Love the material of that bag Kandi - and the little yo yo and button detail just finishes it off beautifully - well done

I have been challenged by OH to create a Nautical Monkey - could be interesting ;)

sorry to bump. but im hoping someone could really help me. im having a really hard job to find some school skirts to fit my dd, so was thinking of making her some from green gingham now summer is coming. does anyone know of an easy and simple pattern i could use. Thanks

Could you just make a tube out of some material large enough to go over hips/bottom measure the length required ie above below the knee and make a casing for the elastic for the waist.

that's great value! i see you're in Derbyshire, would you be able to pm me the address? i'm a bit more south but sometimes visit. :)

would it be ok for a new person to join to learn please? I think the only stitching ive ever done is cross stitch, im back enjoying that now but id love to be able to sew proper things (if you get what i mean) simple things so that maybe a could make a cushion?

I do - I'm on I think its my 5th one now which is here.

ah, i thought so Dianah. i'm totally in awe of your wedding planning and budget, and have made a note to show it to my fiance! i dip in and out of the DFWdiaries as there are some very good tips there and encouragement to be had. i really respect those who able to be so controlled with their spending and so open with their situations. :T

i'm loving all the tea-towl bags! i've got that flowery poundland runner, but its too bright for the table, so it might get a new life!

similarly, and a lovely friend bought me a single duvet from Tescos sale for only 2.00! it's beautiful patchwork style with roses in pinks and blues, very Cath Kidson. i'm not sure what it will become yet.http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.205-9800.aspx

oh, and i've made 10 or so more 1" hexagons for my ultimate patchwork project.:D but thanks to a couple of fabric square swaps and a very kind donation by lovely Emma i've now got enough different fabric to make about 60 more!
