Why not check round the house for some of the objects as they can be anything like beads small plastic toys, lego men etc
I can't stand small plastic toys :o , ours tend to be wooden toys which are far too big. I guess I could check out the charity shops, they often have tubs of small plastic junk toys.

I understand that totally :) I'm sure that if you keep your eyes open you will find what you need. Don't forget buttons off clothing being thrown out that isn't fit to pass on. Also grandmas might have button jars. You could also put 1p and 5p coins in.

right, i'm posting this photo of a WIP UFO quilt that's been hanging around ALMOST finished for a few months, but was originally started over 8 years ago:o! hopefully i'll shame myself into getting the 60 (i think) small white buttons and then tying the quilt together. wish me luck!

really hoping that someone here might have Simplicity 2940 pattern which is for a kimono style jacket - one of my GCSE students is using this pattern and has lost the second page of instructions - if anyone has this pattern and could scan it or copy it for me I would be most grateful and would reimburse any costs - they need to finish these garments asap and this SEN student is getting really anxious and worried

Dizzy Tina - can't believe you made your 1st bag without a pattern and it looks so good - with pockets and everything! I've only made 1 bag so far - with a pattern and no pockets, etc. That seemed hard enough!
Well done you I bet your aunty is pleased with it!

I made this for my MIL for Easter :

    24909_429407222994_519867994_5394462_6936851_n.jpg

It's shamelessly copied from a picture I saw (as are SO many of my makes - *embarassed*) and i would do it a little differently next time. Oh and the 'petals' are from an old short of mine so good recycling too!

23rd Spiral ~ I think 8 years is good going for a quilt :rotfl: You need a little [STRIKE]nagging[/STRIKE] encouragement to get it finished, we can help with that :D.

Traceylou ~ I love your flower - is it an ornament or a door stop?

It's an ornament - I was taking pictures of the Easter tree my dd (3 yo) and I made and for some reason put the flower in the same place to photo!

It's fab - the fabric on the flower looks really special, quite japanese - glad you were able to recycle it!
