has anyone on here made their own sanitary pads? i keep looking into it but not taken the plunge yet
Next on my list for the duvet cover is pump bag for my nephews PE kit but need some matching cord first , we are going away on saturday too so probably not get much done
Thanks for the comments on my crayon roll, i have loads of knitting needles i may make a giant sized one for a full set of needles but would have to work out the spacings for the various needles first , off to look for a tute first though.

I use Mr T, value line Shower curtains, to line all sorts of things. But someone has said maybe not to use on Food stuffs/ i.e. sandwich bags.?
But I line shopping bags with it. Helps with keeping cold stuff cold, and from getting the fabric bags wet. Makeup bags seems fine to me.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

I bought 2 packs of these tea towels to sew with a few weeks ago! So far I've used the white ones with circles to make a wet bag lined with shower curtain for my babies mucky stuff. would like ideas as for what to do with the rest too lol:D
Bibs, makeup bags, phone/camera covers.
Funky kids tops
gym bags
stocking/hanky bags
that sort of thing.
they could be lined and used to make tea cosy and oven gloves etc ?When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I can not look at anything in the carity shops now without thinking what can I make with that fabric :rotfl: I even hold shirts and skirts out fully to see how much fabric could be re-used (I dont see shirts only fabric :rotfl:)karmacookie wrote: »Sethsgran has really inspired me to knit a doll after showing us the AK dolls, they are bril :j
Sethsgran and Karmacookie - i'm no knitter, i currently have 9ish x 15 stitches sitting on a safety pin waiting for my own needles to come along... anyway, despite that i'm in love with the idea and look of Steiner / Waldorf dolls, have you seen them? i'll post a link to some finished ones, i'm sure there'd be patterns out there if you were interested.

Love that word.
Well done with all the makes everyone they look fab, I have just finished a roman blind for eldest dd's room but not happy with it.
Orders for more sock monkeys but my stitching is comimg apart I keep playing with the tension on my machine but it always seems loose on the bottom thread maybe time for a new machine ( she says cheekily)Mortgage

It stitches well and is thin and doesnt tear like anything vinyl does. I have bought mine from e bay. It also comes in 2 oz but thats very very lightweight.0 -
shaz_mum_of__2 wrote: »Traceylou the hobby horse is fab did you use a pattern ?, is it an online one?
I saw a picture on someone's blog :
And just tried to copy it.
I cheated a bit as the bridle and mane on my one are from felt plus I like this one's ears better but couldn't make them work so changed them!
Still my dd (3) loves her one so that's the most important thing! And I think it probably cost around £3 to make so that's a bonus!:j0 -
fabulous hobby horses. I made my 4 grandchildren Hobby reindeer for christmas they were really cute, this is the image of the reindeer from the pattern book
and they also give the suggestion of making a hobby reindeer with the head. Looks big here but the head is only about 6"
