Maybe I will stick with my sewing machines! Draining the oil etc and sorting the motor of one is a bit scarey to me.
I do get my machines serviced and its not a cheap thing, but necessary if the machine is to last.

I made two Cushion cover fronts out of some of the Christmas fabrics.
I also started the "dresden plate" patchwork from my Cath Kidston book patches.
I have sort of got a bit more interested in the patchwork. My councillor today, mentioned that I once said I would not do the patchwork as it was too time consuming, and now today I tell him I am making patchworks! How someone changes in a few months!.

I still bought more fabric today!!!! But it was only plain black and plain white polycotton to pad out the printed fabrics that I have. I thought it will certainly make the money go further, in the long run.
I am aiming for a Black and white quilt out of it all. If I ever get there of course.
I also bought a few books on the internet the other day, and one of them is Debbie Shores, Cushion Covers.
I know, I have been making Cushions for 30 plus years on and off, but I wanted to just have a few insperational ones. I do like my craft books as much as my fabrics.!!!
Oh well there was enough funds in the bank, just but this week is going to have to be the end of spending for a while as the Council have stopped paying the Fostering Allowance and I have lost £139.84 pence a week!!!! until they get it sorted out. Which is half of my income. So I will have to get that sewing made and sell sell sell somehow!.

Yes I have an overlocker. Not industrial, but it has served me for around 20 years! Love it. Just havent been able leave it set up as well as my machine of late. Lack of room.
Another day where I didnt get to sew. Bought some batteries for the camera so I will try and take some pictures tomorrow. It wont be the morning as I have to get up really early and get out before 7am! eek. Babysitting for DGD2 from 7.30am
Have to drop DGD1 at her Mums for a few hours.
Will probably sew a few bits of the patchwork when I have a minute in front of the TV.

Diable, my son would have loved to help you with the sewing machine - he is 12 and is mad about machinery, woodwork, engines, etc - all the boyish things that I can't really help with!

For myself, I haven't done much sewing for the past couple of weeks due to a painful shoulder - I'm waiting for physiotherapy on a damaged muscle. Today, though, at sewing machine class, I finished the bag that I had started last time :)

I've also cut out a small bag with a flap, to put my stitch ripper, tape measure, pins, etc in. I'm cheating a bit, as I've cut it from a lined valance. The valance is teal coloured, about 10 feet long and only cost 50p :D. Two friends (one a very experienced stitcher) have also cut bags from it, both to store their knitting needles in. I still have plenty left.....

Gosh its quiet on here. I thought it was me being abscent, but nope where are we all?
I am cutting out some things that came in with a magazine, but the pattern is missing the straps so I have to work that out myself.
I finished the Cath Kidston bag from her Patches book.
I have been cutting out some more hexagons in the black and white.
You will be pleased to know that i have put new batteries in the camera, so hopefully I will get some pictures out there soon.
Tired and doubt I will sew today.

Hi icon_smile.gif So I am still trying to decide which machine to go for...

Local dealer suggests the Juki HZL-K65
    http://directknitting.co.uk/fgl/?con...&product_id=62

    or the Juki HZL-G110

I prefer the price of the Frister and Rossman QE404 or the Janome XL601 though. The online reviews seem good, but just not sure...

I really don't know if it's worth paying extra for the Juki. What do you all think?
