Well I will make a start by clearing out my inbox! Then hmmm oooh shiny things, ok will not be distracted and start with the pile of junk next to my armchair. Already have a bag for the charity shop that I did yesterday, and forgot to take with me to the charity shop - will I ever be cured??Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -
From what I saw, it looks very much like the FlyLady way of doing things.
Except, FlyLady gives you all the tips free, then if you want to buy the paraphenalia (sp?) you can, but you don't need to.0 -
I have a great friend June who is brilliant at decluttering my house. I happily feed her lunch and dinner and she will be stern and not let me get away with keeping anything thats not needed and so far this year we/I have turned my very messy cluttered computer room into a streamlined office that now only holds a desk, chair and bookcase, before that I had to sidle into it as there was so much junk/rubbish in there. She is coming to stay in July so we/I am going to tackle my spare room and it will have a 'June makeover'. I think she could make a living at it she is so good .I must admit I haven't missed any of the stuff we got rid of.0

I've got so much better at getting rid of stuff. Once I broke through the initial pile of stuff, I realised I didn't miss any of it either, and that makes it easier to clear out more things. Honestly, if I've forgot I had something or can't remember the last time it was useful, it can almost certainly be got rid of without missing it.
I've realised that my problem was not wanting to accept quite a few things I'd bought were just not useful to me, so were wasted money. It hasn't been entirely easy to accept that I've bought lots of stuff just for the sake of it in the past, but on the plus side I'm now determined not to make the same mistakes again and do think very critically about everything I buy now. I have to be certain I'll use it often, or that it will serve a very useful purpose before I buy it. Having stuck to this pretty well for some time now, I'm finding I need less and less things and I usually find a way to make or do whatever I'm trying to do without buying something new. I already have quite a lot of things around the house, many of them (most of all kitchenware and appliances) have more than one use. I've recently discovered that coffee cups and glasses make good pastry cutters and the microwave oven is a really good rice cooker, and that I can make toasted cheese sandwiches without a sandwich toaster in the grill.0
