The Great Declutter Part 2

I've got tears in my eyes reading this thread today - love & hugs to all x
Not much de-cluttering over the weekend. Had a lovely, & surprisingly frugal, day out on Saturday - used mycitydeal vouchers for cinema, luncheon vouchers for cinema snacks & was treated to sushi as a belated birthday treat.
Foolishly attempted to "strim" the garden on Sunday but the pollen played havoc with my allergies & I had to spend the afternoon recovering. Felt better this morning but went into work to find that they were gloss painting downstairs which started my allergies off again - had to come home again after an hour so working from home this afternoon & will be tomorrow. At least it gives me a chance to have de-cluttering breaks...

Thanks everyone for the hugs and messages. I'm still in a blur.
I've made some baby steps back to decluttering by listing something on freecycle, which sadly isnt something that a charity shop would sell.:A
Well done to all those decluttering and making money on ebay/table sales too. :beer:Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Mineallmine - my thoughts are with you at this horrid time, it certainly stops you in your tracks. I think that's why I am having trouble clearing out the big shed, most of it still has OHs tools and stuff in.
Anyway, not much de-cluttering for me today was back at work but forgot to take back all the things I have belonging to colleagues! Still, there is always tomorrow.
Take care all.0 -
Ok, more out, 2 rolls of carpet (for the stairs and landing) temporarily stored in the loft. Bed outside ready to go to the tip (unless the scrap metal men come around again).
Found a string of pearls in the loft. Sadly not real as I saw a little scratch and the paint flaked away. I like these so I'm going to keep them. I can't see them ever being bought and the previous owner of this house died about 18 months before we moved in so we wouldn't be able to trace her son or daughter whose wedding they were worn for.
I think it's most fitting in that case for me to treasure them and take care of them. Does everyone agree? Or should I CS them?
Whole house has been hoovered. All washing has been ironed and only DH's ironing is left to put away. Hoover has been emptied again and is going to have to be washed again tonight as I got some really heavy duty dust in it and don't want it to lose it's fab suction again.
Lots more to do tomorrow (like washing the bedding before we all stick to it) but don't anticipate much decluttering. I shall come and boast if I get any done now!Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
Morning, what a beautiful day!!
Kaz I think perhaps you were meant to find them in the loft so I would treasure and wear them personally. I'm sure if the lady could see you wearing them it would bring her pleasure especially if they've been hidden in a loft for all these years, pearls are meant to be worn. So you have my vote!

Good Morning Everyone
Its been a while since I last posted - don't know why cos I catch up every day with posts! You've all been very busy deluttering and I have too. The charity shops in certain areas must be busting at the seams!! Ihave been steadily emptying suitcases from the loft and sorted out all the car boot stuff from last year so have shifted quite a lot of cr*p from my life. Haven't done a car boot sale yet though. Got 23 items listed on ebay though - some with bids, some with watchers. Made £30 for daughter last week - she's got the declutter bug too. Must teach her how to ebay cos it can be hard work some times!!!!
Anyway I need to get moving so I will just say Good Luck to everyone in your quest for tidy homes.Sealed Pot Challenge 2013 Member No 689 - £120/£300
