Hey Megsmum, good for you, I hope you enjoy yourselves in your new campervan. You are quite right, enjoy it while you can!

Actually remembered to take some things back to work today to rightful owners so out - one large black Aldi shopping bag, one box set of DVDs and a pair of wellies.

    Good luck all.

SO I am rather over excited and it has made me realise that there is no point in hanging on to stuff (that we have had for ages/that was my Mum's "best"/that might come in useful) so I have been being quite radical and shifted a lot of stuff.

    I started really well today,

    Pending:
sorted a load of audio cassette tapes, some belts, some clothes and a few other items to go to charity shop
put the boxes the tapes had been stored in out for recycling

    Out:
2 large carrier bags of old greetings cards to recycling
a bin bag of tatty clothes for recycling
my dad's clean laundry back to him
a bird, (which I think the cat brought in but was luckily still alive, and flew away as soon as I opened the window)
£76 in coins to the bank (to go towards saving for a tumble dryer)

Then at about 11 I went shopping, with the intention of decluttering some more when I got home, but just as I was about to head home my car broke down, and then I was stranded in the car park for about 5 hours, and didn't get home till 7.30, by which time I was too worn out to do anything! I wish I'd stayed at home, lol, also wish I'd renewed my AA membership!

    In:
Groceries to replace things we'd run out of, which is all I'm buying at the moment.

I could have gone home but it would have meant taking 2 buses, or 1 bus and a long walk, plus I didn't fancy leaving the car there. DP met me there after work and tried to jump-start it but couldn't, so I got my friend's husband to come and have a look at it, as he's a mechanic, but he couldn't get there till he finished work and then, although he figured out what was wrong (something to do with the fuel pump) he couldn't get it started, so I had to leave it there overnight. DPs friend, who is also a mechanic, is picking it up tomorrow and will fix it tomorrow or Friday.

The other annoying thing is I had someone coming to pick up some of my Freecycle stuff at 6, and I didn't have his number with me, so I had to wait until he called me when he arrived at my house to tell him I couldn't be there, although it couldn't be helped I felt awful and hope he didn't have too far to travel, rearranged collection for tomorrow night.

Sue, I'm sure he understood. If he hadn't he wouldn't have rearranged. I expect he could tell you were stressed out by the tone of your voice.

Hi All - Have not posted for a while because:
    Been away,
    then busy,
then a grotty horrid cold, but I have been tidying and chucking and recycling in between times. We decided to buy the campervan right now, rather than waiting til OH retires because:

    Well done you!

My mum is still going ...but periodically rings up asking if I want her doulton dinner service......and my answer is still the same - NO!! I've not had a Doulton dinner service in 22 years of wedlock - why would I want one now.......AND WHERE WOULD I PUT IT? There were more rows about my wedding list than anything else before I got married....I married a penniless student..so I regarded the basics as being the important stuff - not silver tea pots or Doulton dinner/tea services!

Go you! And enjoy the camper van!

i seem to have hit a wall and am not really achieveing much other than the usual ins and outs.

must find something to motived me into starting again as i know there is still plenty of clutter in the house

    Me too!!!!
I've already given up on my 50 in 5 days challenge because the weather has been so lovely I've wanted to play in the garden and not declutter the house! :p

I really need to climb over this wall or knock it down because there is a lot of clutter about that needs to go. I think if it rained (sorry, ducks and hides) just for one day that would help me! :rotfl:

Congratulations on the campervan megsmum you enjoy yourselves and live your dream let the adventures begin! :T

Hope you're feeling a bit happier Sue14 and your car will be mended soon.

Have a good day everyone, off out to play in the garden again - whoops! :rotfl:
